All of you know that, internet is now needed for most of things in our life. Work (especially freelancing), Online banking, Studying, and many more.
So, internet is not an optional thing they (govt.) give to you, It's one of your rights to have internet.
For years, we used to have a stable, unlimited internet connection with no limits in front of us. Rarely we faced problems about the internet in the past.
Now, we only have a quota system that controls the internet, Yeah that's right. Both cellular data & Wi-Fi are in quota system. They provide internet for you with limited amount of GBs and speed, that expires after a month and you have to renew it. In addition of that: Wi-Fi here relies on a landline which is just too old to have here and useless, and you have to renew subnoscription every three months, else Wi-Fi won't work for you till you pay it.
All of that with multiple plans, speed varies based on the amount too.
We got speeds here that begins from 30mbps up to 200mbps (Commonly used one is 30mbps because it's more affordable)
Like, here you can get 140 GB with 30mbps speed for 210 EGP (Approx. 4.2$)
And yet it does end up more worse. Consumption of internet "weirdly" increases more than usual even if you have your wifi off, Gigs are still consumed though. Many times I've setup an internet consumption watcher system and literally my consumption here is less than what the ISP app says, there aren't unknown devices connected to the wifi though.
On the top of that, How the heck do we have 5G when the internet is limited? And Oh, How come 4G becomes faster than 5G here??? That doesn't make sense at all.
Even more, Do you expect the internet service to be good after all of these limitations? Heck no. It's too low that even some people out there have to wait for about 1 hour to download a 11mb file. And when they complain to the ISP support, they either ruin it more or just ignore. They rarely respond to your complaint and fix the issue.
Also, days ago when that Internet outage happened due to one of the main data centers was on fire, some important international ISPs were also relying on it, and GUESS WHAT! They also give unlimited internet to their users too!
Even more, many users reported that their internet speeds has became better during the fire, and the quota system bugged that it doesn't even count the users consumption any more. Others had a complete outage of internet and cellular data was too weak that no one can receive or make calls, Besides that many other services were also down. It's too bad that they made almost everything rely on that data center. Why don't they just use backup data centers instead of all of that? Such a bad neglection that they caused that fire to happen anyways. Like, they had a bad management of their devices inside, and the cooling system was also bad.
Also, this basically exposes one of their fools. When we requested many times and even made campaigns to make internet unlimited and better, they kept saying that the infrastructure is too weak and cannot handle it.
Then how the flip when that data center went down, those users got higher speeds with a broken quota system (unlimited internet)? And it was way too faster and even more stable than normal 💀
Many times we request from the govt to stop that act against us, but they always ignore or they make deals with the campaign owners to stop it.
