Sometimes we say we want more of God. Sometimes we ask Him to show/tell us things He wants for us. Sometimes we ask Him to take us deeper.

But when that is answered differently than we expect or prefer—preference is huge here—we believe it to be the enemy at work. Can the enemy start a fire? Absolutely. But it is God who uses flames to refine us and to remove what is working in our lives that He doesn’t want there. And neither do we.

To ask God to take us deeper in our walk, love, understanding of Him is to invite heaven, the supernatural, to invade our current situations. The supernatural is above our own understanding and we must understand that or we may become offended when things go differently than we expect. God’s ways are higher than our own. They are bigger. They are ultimately, better. And the end result is always beauty for ashes, but be careful what you pray for.

Or you may find yourself awoken in the middle of the night with angelic encounters that scare you half to death, on assignment to remind you to follow through with what you promised God you would do.

He’s got a sense of humor for sure. 🫣

While I have had many angelic encounters in the past, recent ones have been very different. I now understand why angels always said “Do not fear” when they brought a message to someone in the Bible. But if they would’ve said that to me, I may’ve passed out!

Bottom line: if God has asked you to do something and you said yes, just do it. If He is asking you to do something, just do it. Or He may quite literally wake you up in the middle of the night to remind you and you may need to change the sheets after!
