Godiva is portrayed riding side saddle through deserted streets, the inhabitants having gone indoors to respect her modesty.

This is a rare 16th century Icelandic grimoire (Galdrabók), that contains spells and sigils/staves.

'Galdrastafir', Icelandic magical staves, were visual representations of spells and were used in Icelandic folk magic to invoke luck among other things.
