Türkiye is reportedly pursuing the inclusion of Russia in international discussions aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as stated by the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet.
Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Türkiye's representative at a meeting in Jeddah, emphasized the necessity of involving Russia in the search for a resolution. Kılıç stated that without Russia's participation, achieving a meaningful outcome or solution is unlikely.
However, Germany has expressed opposition to this approach. German officials have pointed out that it may not be appropriate to involve the Russian Federation in the negotiation process at this juncture.
According to Germany's stance, the first priority is for the aggressor to halt their attacks, with the consultation participants then laying the groundwork for subsequent peace negotiations.
