My grandfather bought our family cottage in 1970. The refrigerator which he brought there was already around 10 years old at that point. It lasted until 2016. Our family got over 46 years of use out of that fridge. When we finally needed to replace it, after taking it apart, my dad was impressed by how well it had been designed.

These days, the average fridge lasts 10-15 years. Not because they can't design a better fridge, but because the company wouldn't make as much money if you only needed to buy one fridge in your lifetime. So, they design them to fail after a decade or so.

Maybe in the 2030s, you'll need to pay a monthly subnoscription fee to use your fridge. We have passed the era when technology was designed to make our lives better. Now it is designed to enslave us to it.

❗️🇷🇺 Russian Probe Crashes Into Moon — Roscosmos

Russia’s Luna-25 automatic interplanetary station has collided with the Moon, space agency Roscosmos has said.

“According to the results of a preliminary analysis… the Luna-25 spacecraft switched to a non-designated orbit and ceased to operate due to a collision with the surface of the Moon,” Roscosmos said on Sunday.

The probe was due to receive a signal to form a pre-landing elliptical orbit on Saturday, but communication was lost at 14:57 Moscow time (11: 57 GMT), the agency explained. Efforts on Saturday and Sunday to locate the craft and restore contact were unsuccessful.
A commission involving representatives of several agencies will be assembled to establish the reasons for the loss of the probe, Roscosmos said.

However, the duration of storage did not affect the combat effectiveness of mines. They can still explode because they don't have electrical components that can be discharged over time.

My uncle was one of the survivors who can contest to that. That's how he got trapped.
When they realized there was a fire - a bunch of people on foot and in their cars tried to made their way to what we call "the pali," it's right after the rich people homes which didn't get touched.

There were barricades on the main roads so no one could get to the highway.
I have other friends who told me personally that authorities were there turning them away and they were FORCED into the ocean.
The authorities were telling them that it isn't safe this way. When in reality after the fires, we found out that was the safest place to be. So yes, 100% truth that people were trapped with barricades
