US Major Smedley D. Butler:
WAR IS A RACKET:
“I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.”

It’s interesting to observe that another of my neologisms has gradually spread into common usage. It’s always fascinating to see what previously unarticulated concepts are found to be useful by others, and which are not, because the only reason I create them is for my own private reference in the absence of any existing term. How Israel Helped Create Hamas
Yitzhak Segev, former Israeli military official in Gaza (circa 1980s), told the New York Times that he had helped finance the Palestinian Islamist movement as a “counterweight” to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and the Fatah party, led by Yasser Arafat.
Avner Cohen, a former Israeli 'religious affairs' official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009 that Hamas is "Israel’s creation".

“This is by design: "they" are planning on hitting us with Pandemic 2.0 'informedconsentmatters.co.uk/pandemic-2' very soon, but they don't want you focusing on that right now, as they know the human psyche is such that it can really only cope with cognitively digesting one crisis at a time.
“That's exactly why they ran the concluding credits of "Plandemic 1" before they started "Ukraine War" - why they finished the plague multi-season blockbuster before hitting you with a director's cut war epic - and why the usual suspects immediately dispensed with their face masks only to replace them with Ukraine flags.”

I'm not actually referring to the Israel-Palestine situation (although you can read my thoughts on that here), but to the news that the USA has reintroduced free Covid testing, whilst UK hospitals are being nationally shamed for not routinely Covid testing…

🇮🇱🏴☠️💥🇵🇸 Palestinian-Israeli conflict: the latest news of the hour:
📍Northern direction:
Palestinian shelled Sderot, Yad Mordechai, Nativ Hasara, Ashkelon and several other settlements bordering the Gaza Strip. No major clashes were reported.
📍East and south:
Palestinian sources reported renewed clashes near Kibbutz Be'eri, but Israeli and other Arab sources did not confirm the information.
📍West Bank:
Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces continued in the West Bank. Several such incidents took place outside the formal Palestinian Quarter, with local sources reporting clashes near the Ram On and Janir settlements.
📍The border with Lebanon:
About half an hour ago, a Patriot SAM was accidentally fired on Israel's northern border at Safed. According to preliminary reports, the shell fell and exploded in the village of Khiyam Marjayoun in southern Lebanon. There were no other major incidents in the border area.
📍Gaza Strip:
Israeli forces continued to fire into the Gaza Strip. Civilian casualties have been high due to the density of residential areas: more than 1,400 people have been killed and a further 6,000 injured.
📍Political background:
There were online reports that the Jordanian authorities were blocking the road into the West Bank to prevent the local population from taking part in clashes with the Israelis.
In Israel, an extended meeting was held between Benjamin Netanyahu, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and a member of the 'emergency government', Benny Gantz. Blinken said the states supported the Israeli position and would defend allies if other countries entered the conflict.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived in Iraq.

Scott Ritter: Israeli Assault on Gaza is Doomed to Fail
"Urban combat is extraordinarily difficult. It is made even more so when a defender can settle in amongst the rubble of a destroyed city. Ask the Germans at Stalingrad. Ask the French, British, Indians, and Poles who fought at Monte Cassino. Ask either the Ukrainians or Russians about Mariupol and Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
Digging a competent enemy out of the rubble of a destroyed city, especially when they have prepared and organized for such a battle, is deadly work. The Israeli troops who have been assembled outside of Gaza are not ready for this fight. They are not trained or equipped for this fight. They are not psychologically prepared for this fight."

Israel has deactivated the Knock on the Roof protocol. This meant that if points that Israel intended to strike in Gaza were near civilians, orders were given in advance to leave the area by dropping sound bombs or letters.
This protocol has been canceled. IDF will not announce target locations
