Great review of The Brave and the Bold, third book in The Hidden Truth series.
https://amzn.to/3SpMAPK

"Schantz’s world building is, I think the make or break aspect of the book, and really the whole series, for most people. He goes into great detail describing the secret history behind the development of many technologies we take for granted today, as well as recapping some of the physics that the Circle is trying to keep secret. The intent is both to help the reader understand on a base level what the Circle is up to and how they go about accomplishing their goals of containing technological development and disrupting Western Civilization. Some readers might find the level of detail excessive. On the other hand, I find it draws me in even further, making the book difficult to put down to say the least. Part of that is because the author does such a good job describing things in an accessible way and the other is that most of the details are actually true. It makes you realize that the free market has never really been free."

"How do you protect yourself from becoming victim of a mind virus? Well, the main thing to consider is that most mind viruses are spread via strong emotions.

"Emotions such as fear and hate are the most powerful, but also emotions such as loneliness and a desire to fit in can be easily exploited.

"Become aware of your emotions and then be mindful of how you are reacting to news stories. Note the media outlets - including the alternative ones - that are constantly getting your attention via click bait and disaster narratives. Take a deep breath and stay centered. Be open to opposing viewpoints, no matter how distasteful on the surface."

🇺🇦🏴‍☠️ Ukraine does not need associate professors, lecturers and departmental assistants. All the Kiev regime needs is cannon fodder for the bloodbath.

The rector of the Zaporozhye Polytechnic University (formerly the Zaporozhye Mechanical Engineering Institute), Viktor Greshta, has issued an order forcing a number of his staff to report to the local military recruitment office, allegedly "to attend a medical examination and clarify the data".

The End of The Escapist

The collapse of The Escapist is an object lesson in when SJWs and financial interests take over a previously successful company: When people ask me how to get into games journalism these days, my main piece of advice is “don’t.” I’m really not kidding, as while I am privileged to be where I am, it’s […]

All people will remember about Francis is that he wrecked his papacy intervening to shield rapists and child molesters while maliciously torturing the most devoted and faithful Catholics, so by the end everyone hated his guts. Authors will note pointedly that no Pope ever took the name Francis again

An excellent piece from James Delingpole. My comment:

"So well said, James, and thank you.

"It is only when you have the humility to accept that you may have been wrong about deeply held premises that you can take the first steps toward understanding the truth. The first step to knowledge is to know what you do not know. "I know that I know nothing," Socrates is reputed to have said.

"This is fundamental to science as well. “Thoroughly conscious ignorance is the prelude to every real advance in science,” declared James Clerk Maxwell.

"It's a challenge to break through the conditioning, crawl out of Plato's cave, and look at the world with objective eyes. It's an even greater challenge to go back into the cave and persuade others to set aside their comfortable lies and take a look at what is so obvious to you. If you did it, others can, too, and an allegiance to the good, the beautiful, and the true demands no less of you."

Studies have shown that much of the Levant's current population has been there pretty much for thousands of years. Their populations haven't moved around very much, and this has been studied by comparing DNA from mummies to the current populations.

In other words, it's not like the current Palestinian population there are largely descended from gulf invaders who settled the region or something like that. They're the people who have always been there.

The Palestinian population are very likely descended from the ancient populations of that region, which would include Judeans, Samaritans, etc who lost their Jewishness over time, most of which presumably converted to Christianity under Roman or Byzantine rule, and then most converted to Islam under the rule of the various Islamic regimes who ruled over there after Byzantium lost it, and just became Arabs, assimilating into the Arab culture that those Islamic regimes forced on them.

📝32nd day of war, Gaza ground status:

Very slow advances overall with some retreats in the northern area.

• In the north, IOF started an intense advancement towards Al-Shati, but got ambushed & trapped by the resistance receiving heavy blows.

• Ongoing clashes west of Beit Lahia, no advancements

• South of Gaza City, ongoing clashes in the Tal al-Hawa area. The IOF claims to have secured the coastline, but it’s merely a confrontation zone, not secured.

• No advancements in Beit Hanoun
The israeli regime tries to secure the coastline but has been unsuccessful in doing so. It’s important to note that these areas are shelled both by air & sea while ground troops try to advance.

• Approximately 113 israeli tanks, APCs and bulldozers have been damaged/destroyed
