New drones equipped with suspended thermobaric and incendiary munitions and flamethrowers is being developed for the Russian Armed Forces, the Russian newspaper Izvestia has reported.

Experts believe that drones with thermobaric munitions will be used to destroy fortified areas - new drones are much more effective than high-explosive ones in destroying pre-equipped enemy firing points.

The G7 will also introduce a phased ban on the import of Russian diamonds from third countries from about March 1, as well as create a "reliable verification and certification mechanism" for rough diamonds by September 1.

The ban does not apply to industrial diamonds.
