It's funny how DINKS think they're subverting societal norms when they're literally the product of an algorithm-driven death cult social engineering campaign.

Forwarded from The Exaltation of Beauty
Lady Hillingdon, 1905, by Frank Dicksee, 127 × 102cm, private collection
Frank Dicksee began his career as a painter of medieval romance and contemporary melodrama and in the 1880s and 1890s he was highly celebrated as one of the most fashionable painters of narrative art. As the twentieth century approached, the vogue for this style of painting began to wain and Dicksee used his abilities at capturing beauty to forge the path to becoming the most successful English portrait painter of his day, rivalling the American John Singer Sargent and the Hungarian Philip de László. He gained a reputation for flattering his female sitters and for emphasising their beauty with accessories and glorious fabrics.

"If cloud is so expensive, why did you ever go there?
"Because we bought the marketing pitch. That it was going to be cheaper, easier, and faster. Only the last promise ever really came through for us. The cloud makes it really fast to provision a whole fleet of servers. But that’s just not something we do very often, so it’s not worth a huge premium.
"But we spent years trying to unlock the savings from “economies of scale” and “ease of use”, but it just never really happened. The managed services still needed management. The advances from Moore’s Law rarely got passed on as savings.
"In hindsight, I’m actually glad we did give the cloud a proper go. We learned a lot, and we improved our processes as a result. But I do wish we’d done the math a couple of years sooner."

"The Republic belonged to Americans. The Empire belonged to those who adopted the foreign “Melting Pot” ideology that was introduced to denationalize the new empire and sever it from its British roots. Everything that has happened since, including the largest invasion in human history and the concomitant takeover by the same ethnic elite that ruled the Soviet Union, was a direct result of those two fatal events."

The Empire Enters the Doom Loop - Vox Popoli
Ahnaf Habib, writing at The Tree of Woe, implicitly contends that that my decades-old prediction of the collapse of the USA as a singular political entity in 2033 is too optimistic: This is a Doom Loop. All signs presently indicate that The US has entered…
