Will Kyiv refuse the transit of Russian gas?

In recent days, the issue of extending the contract between Naftogaz and Gazprom has been especially widely discussed by experts and officials. The statement by the head of Naftogaz, Oleksiy Chernyshov, about plans to suspend cooperation was regarded as very provocative. However, experts agree that this decision is not final, because it is obvious that stopping the transit of Russian LNG could lead to an even greater gas shortage on the European market and a deepening industrial decline, and Brussels is unlikely to agree to this.

It is also unlikely that Kyiv, realizing its dependence on European financial assistance, will disrupt established supply chains and provoke an even greater industrial decline in the EU due to gas shortages. Therefore, there is a great chance that Ukraine and Russia will still be able to reach agreement on this issue.

Klaus Schwab Tells the World to Get Ready for a Transhumanist Future

“Just think of the power,” he says, “of the combination of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and big data.”

Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), predicts in ten years, the world “will be completely different from what it is now.”

“I think we have to be prepared for a world where we see a fusion of our physical, our digital, and our biological dimensions. So, it will be a world integrating the physical, biological, and the digital dimensions.”

The Humor of the Hugo

If you have a dark and morbid sense of humor, as I do, then you will surely be amused by the fact that it isn’t “Space Raptor Butt Invasion” or”Alien Stripper Boned by the T-Rex” or NK Jemisin winning the most Best Novel awards in science fiction history that has turned out to be the […]

"This is always how revolutions happen. Extremist forces use appealing moderate voices as the acceptable front of the movement, and then, once they are installed in power, their real agenda is made clear.

"I've said for some time that these prominent "cool young conservative voices" such as Matt Walsh, Candace Owens, Ben Shapiro, and of course Tucker Carlson, are not what they appear to be, and are simply softening the soil for something much darker.

"The extraordinary international media publicity given to Carlson's interview with Vladimir Putin solidifies this. The global machine is manufacturing your consent for the next stage of the global agenda, by manipulating you into sympathising with Putin and declaring your contempt for the West."

Hungary blocks new package of sanctions against Russia — Financial Times.

According to the publication's sources, at yesterday's meeting of EU ambassadors, Hungary was the only country that did not approve the 13th package of sanctions targeting nearly 200 individuals and organizations from Russia, China, North Korea and other countries who are deemed to be helping Russia’s war effort.

One of the officials said that Hungary did not agree to the new sanctions because of the inclusion of Chinese companies on the list.

According to another source, the Hungarian ambassador “requested a bit more time to analyze the content of the proposals”.

Sources say that discussions will continue, and it is likely that ministers of the member states will raise this issue at a meeting next week.

Supporters of the sanctions package hope to have agreement by next Wednesday, in order to meet the February 24th deadline. At the same time, the EU Observer notes that an agreement may be reached on February 19.

Bad Choices Abound

Big Serge invokes a chess analogy to explain the very difficult choices being faced by Israel vis-a-vis the Arabs in Palestine and by the USA in the Middle East and in Ukraine. The basic geostrategic problem facing the United States (and its ectopic paramour, Israel) is that the ability to conduct asymmetrically inexpensive countermeasures has […]
