Ukrainians who recently crossed the border with Romania illegally through the mountains say the whole journey took them 6 days and 5 nights, and the distance was about 80 kilometres.
"Border guards use drones with thermal imaging and at night, when many people think they can't see them, they sleep in sleeping bags where they find them. We used to dig fallen holes under trees so that the trunk covers you completely, and then we would lie down in sleeping bags and sleep that way".

"Most of those caught made a big mistake. If they manage to enter the buffer zone, they think that the Ukrainian border guards are no longer there, but this is not the case - the buffer zone is the most heavily guarded. Also, many people follow forest roads because it is easier. The roads and trails are flatter and you don't get tired as quickly. This is where the real hunting begins. You have to go through as much overgrown terrain as possible".

The people there are demanding independence from the French occupation.
France has been bringing settlers there for years in order to outnumber the native population.
The French Government is now using its army to quash indigenous locals who are rising up against the colonisers.
France exploits the mineral-rich island, which lies in the southwest Pacific, some 1,500 km (930 miles) east of Australia.
France annexed the island in 1853 and gave the colony the status of overseas territory in 1946. It has long been rocked by pro-independence movements.
New Caledonia is the world's No. 3 nickel miners but profits go back to France leaving, one in five locals living under the poverty threshold.
