The Security Service of Ukraine investigators have established that the Russian Federation hit the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv with an Kh-101 missile. Fragments of the missile, including the rear part with a serial number and part of the steering wheel, were found at the site.

As for the missile that struck the courtyard of the Okhmatdyt Hospital in Kiev, it was not a direct hit on the building. Although the damage to the hospital was not as extensive as it could have been, I am still puzzled by the incident. There is no reason to damage this hospital, as there is nothing to gain from it and everything to lose.

I understand that there was a small electrical substation in the courtyard that was directly affected by the strike, but its importance seems to be minimal. However, it is worth noting that the hospital is not far from the Artyom plant, which could be considered an important piece of information.

But i do know who is going to benefit from it. It makes for a perfect story for the Western media, which will overshadow all other attacks on legitimate military infrastructure. Zelensky leaves for Poland, and 49+ missiles hit various military targets, with one falling into the courtyard of a children's hospital. Next thing you know, the place is swarming with the AFU and the media. Can't make this up.

I don't think the German government will ban the AfD. Instead, they'll make life harder and harder for members and also provide tacit support for radicals who target and attack AfD politicians and members.

In Russia's war against Ukraine, between 462,000 and 728,000 Russian soldiers have been "disabled," according to The Economist, citing leaks from US Department of Defense documents. The publication includes four charts illustrating Russian losses.

The first chart, using data from official and unofficial sources, indicates that by July 5, the death toll in the Russian army had exceeded 100,000, with estimates ranging from 106,000 to 140,000 as of June 21. Much of this analysis is based on legacy records and social media obituaries, but since February 6, data access has been compromised, leading to reliance on trends.

The Economist estimates that for every soldier killed, there are about three to four wounded. This suggests that between 462,000 and 728,000 Russian soldiers had been "decommissioned" by mid-June. French and British officials estimate that around 500,000 Russians had been seriously wounded or killed by early May.

One chart shows that men aged 35 to 39 suffered the greatest losses, with 27,000 killed between February 2022 and June 2024. Approximately 2% of all Russian men aged 20 to 50 may have been killed or seriously injured in Ukraine since the invasion began.

The final chart compares Russian losses in Ukraine to those in other wars, revealing that more Russian soldiers have died in Ukraine during the full-scale invasion than in all military conflicts since World War II combined.

🇺🇸🇷🇺❗️The White House is wary of imposing sanctions against Russia for allegedly using oil tankers to circumvent Western restrictions, out of fears that this will cause a rise in oil prices and harm US President Joe Biden's election campaign, the New York Times reports, citing sources.

Farage is Not the Answer

James Delingpole eloquently explains why Nigel Farage serves the same master as Boris Johnson and Keith Starmer: How do we know that Farage is compromised? Well, as with everyone else in that broad and bitterly divisive category ‘Controlled Opposition’, there are always one or two tells that give the game away. In Farage’s case, I’d […]

Kotaku Australia Has Folded

My heart!  Oh, my poor wounded heart!  Kotaku Down Under is no more! Won’t someone please think of the children? If I was a better person, I’d be trying to come up with some kind of emotion tangential to empathy. After all, Kotaku wasn’t always this steaming, radioactive pile.  When it first launched this was […]
