🇯🇵🇺🇦 After changing arms export rules, Japan announced the delivery of Patriot missiles to the United States with the expectation that they would be redirected to Ukraine.
Now Tokyo can supply finished products, not just parts, to countries that have the appropriate license. This could ease Japan's ban on military exports, making it easier for the United States and Europe to arm Ukraine.
Last June, the Wall Street Journal reported that Japan was considering supplying 155mm projectiles to Ukraine, and a few days ago there was speculation that it might increase production of missiles designed for Patriot systems.

The only question that remains is the timing of the explosion, Forbes writes. It can happen either soon or later.
The source of tension, according to the editor-in-chief, will be the border between northern Israel and southern Lebanon, where mutual shelling has been going on since October last year. "About 80,000 Israeli residents have been forced to evacuate, which is an unacceptable situation for a sovereign state. Israel cannot allow militants to force it, in effect, to give up part of its territory," the article says.
Iran's goal, according to Forbes, is to force Israel to make a deal: Hezbollah will retreat and stop rocket attacks in exchange for a ceasefire in Gaza. But Jerusalem "will never be able to sign such an agreement" because it would be "the death knell for the Jewish state."
Hezbollah's fighters are more numerous and arguably more capable than Hamas' fighters, possessing 150,000 rockets of various types. Destroying Hezbollah would therefore be costly for Israel, as some of its missiles and drones would pass through Israel's Iron Dome and into densely populated urban areas.
"In addition, Iran will not stand aside: it will launch its own missiles at Israel. And it will be tempted to take the final steps to create a nuclear device," Forbes writes.
He believes that Israel will eventually need US help to fight Hezbollah and Iran, not to mention the remnants of Hamas. But the question remains whether the States will provide it.

Russian Federation Could Attack NATO in 5-8 Years, Warns Bundeswehr General Breuer
In an interview with the Sächsische Zeitung, Bundeswehr General Andreas Breuer expressed concerns that the Russian Federation may be in a position to launch an attack on NATO within the next 5-8 years. General Breuer highlighted the alarming rate at which the Russian army is enhancing its military capabilities, receiving between 1,000 to 1,500 tanks annually. In contrast, the five largest European NATO countries combined only acquire about half of this number.
The Bundeswehr, Germany's armed forces, currently operates with approximately 300 battle tanks, illustrating a significant disparity in military hardware between Russia and European NATO members. General Breuer's assessment suggests that within 5-8 years, the Russian military could be sufficiently prepared and equipped to pose a substantial threat to NATO territories.

Trump failed as a president by virtually every major metric, but he has done more damage to the machine than any American in a century. Not because he is a strategic genius, nor even on our side, but because he is mythic in scope. He has undermined the progressive myth, however slightly, and this has been enough to start it toppling.
Yesterday he was shot and survived the assassination attempt.
Our guys need to understand why he has power over half the American public. It's not that they're dumb. It's that he has a myth.
We wrote an article on this last month:
If the regime does make a martyr of Trump, they will have written his myth. But they have already made him into a criminal. If they don’t martyr him, they admit that Trump is above the law. Either he is a myth, or above the law—and who else is above the law but the sovereign? This is the latest in a series of “painful catch-22s” that the regime has suffered at the instigation of Trump himself.
Our rulers are absurdly incompetent nincompoops. Consider the scope of their failure. They have taken the most powerful, secure, self-running political machine in the history of the world—liberal democracy—and in a single generation have managed to squander it. They have put themselves in a terrible position, where one man is now the avatar for an oppressed people—the numerical majority, who are descended from religious extremists and whose revolutionary blood has been awakened.
Our rulers have concocted a no-win scenario and stepped into it. This scale of incompetence can only be described as mythic. What happens next could be the beginning of a new era.
