The debate about the propositional nation is merely an extension of the American Civil War, which is an extension of the English Civil War.

This is not the behavior of people who genuinely believe resources are limited and we are in danger of running out of energy. This is the behavior of people committed to creating an energy shortage not avoiding one.

"Gradual institutional capture. Imagine a white male boomer CEO in the early 2010s who's being pestered by HR underlings that the company "isn't doing enough" social good. He's not woke, but he doesn't want to embarrass his lib wife by being the dusty old bigot who gets exposed by Gawker. He wants to be on the cover of Fortune and impress his billionaire friends. So he lets the peons do a little woke shit, as a treat, so they will shut up and not cause trouble."

Some people have begun to view Russia’s elites as being in a state of paralysis when it comes to escalation management. I will admit that I don’t think Putin and his ruling class’s handling particularly of the border regions has been ideal. In a way, it does feel like he tries too hard in keeping society at large sanitized or shielded away from the conflict as it grows on Russia’s own borders. And when he does make statements on the matter, they are usually uninspired and boilerplate, with little demonstrated accountability for anyone involved.

The Battle of Kursk, Round 1

As the second Battle of Kursk winds down, it seems appropriate to note the anniversary of the end of the first, much larger one. The Battle of Kursk, which involved the largest tank battle of the Second World War, was fought on the steppe of Kursk oblast between July 5 and August 23, 1943. It […]

'Only hearing one side of the story': US cracks down on its own journalist due to fear of Russia

The US Department of Justice has begun a broad criminal investigation in US citizens who have worked with Russian state media companies, according to a report released this week from the New York Times. This month, former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter and Dimitri K. Simes, an advisor to former President Donald Trump’s first presidential campaign, had their homes searched by FBI agents. Charges have not been made against either men.

“When they can't even acknowledge the arguments of the other side, they can't even acknowledge there could be any validity, any critique or any pro-Russian statement or anything about the war in Ukraine that doesn't exactly match their view. That's because they know their arguments are not strong, that they don't really have truth on their side. They can't even acknowledge any critical view,” said the journalist and author Caleb Maupin who joined The Critical Hour.

According to the New York Times, more government searches are expected to occur soon. Officials reportedly said that criminal charges are possible.

“...[Americans] who think that things might not be great with the inflation and the crumbling infrastructure while we spend billions on wars, they are denigrating the country and how dare they by questioning things. I mean, this is the level of discourse that we’ve got here. Just this kind of love it or leave it,” Maupin added.

And the Diversity Celebrated

You have to say this for the Diversity in Germany. They do now how to celebrate the concept. A large-scale search was underway Saturday in the western German city of Solingen after three people were killed and at least eight others wounded, five of them seriously, in a knife attack at a festival. “The police […]
