🇬🇪🇷🇺Georgian Prime Minister Kobakhidze said that after the elections, which the Georgian Dream expects to win, one of the main foreign policy directions of Georgia will be improving relations with Russia, which were spoiled during the Saakashvili era.

The current regime in Georgia has already officially acknowledged the responsibility of the Saakashvili regime for the war unleashed against South Ossetia, something Russia has been talking about since 2008. It took the Georgians 16 years to acknowledge that Russia was right in this matter. This, of course, increases the chances for a gradual normalization of relations.

But all this will be relevant only if the "Georgian Dream" wins the elections and does not allow a Maidan in Tbilisi, which is being prepared precisely at the instigation of the United States. The pro-Western opposition understands perfectly well that this may be its last chance for power in the coming years. Therefore, the announcement of the election results as "incorrect" and attempts to seize power in Georgia from the streets are practically inevitable.

The upcoming elections for Georgia and the region in this regard are a de facto watershed and they will determine the future of Georgia for many years.

🇷🇴⚖️❌⭐️ The Constitutional Court of Romania has finally published the motivation behind the decision to exclude Diana Șoșoacă from the presidential race and the precedent it sets is bad.

The Court was petitioned by a former party colleague of Diana Șoșoacă to ban her based on her "unloyalty to the Constitution and the principles of liberty, democracy, the respect of human rights, rule of law".

The petitioner argued:

"Every person that wants to become president must protect the integrity of the democratic system, of the fundamental institutions, to respect the democratic nature of the state and the values and principles it is founded upon. A contrario, the lack of attachment to the constitutional values represent a behaviour that is contrary to the Constitution itself and it is sanctioned by the Constitutional Court, in the case of political parties, by declaring them unconstitutional and dissolving them and in the case of individuals running for office, excluding them from the election. These sanctions cannot be considered to be violating their rights in any case".

She continued saying that a proof of Mrs. Șoșoacă's lack of loyalty to the Constitution and democracy are certain visits she made to the Russian embassy in 2021 as well as a political declaration where she claimed Russia and China are freer than Romania + a number of other political statements which would have normally been dismissed by a non-politicised court, because courts should not take decisions based on opinions people have.

The court AGREED with the petitioner admitting that it is indeed the CCR's responsibility to assess the public conduit of the individual running for president to check if it eligible to become president. The court argues that because Romania added back in 2003, a number of articles which expressly state its commitment to "Euroatlantic integration", (they also interpret this as a commitment for democracy and against totalitarian/extremist ideologies) it has sufficient reasons to eliminate Șoșoacă from the presidential race.

📝: Basically, it is illegal to run for president if you're not explicitly pro-NATO and pro-EU in Romania now.
