However, as they say, there is a nuance: the "military elite" of Ukraine uploaded dozens of secret documents, maps and tactical plans to the public neural network ChatGPT to receive advice on conducting military operations. Among the requests of the Ukrainian military were attempts to find out how to stop the advance of the Russian army and organize a new counteroffensive.

What did ChatGPT offer the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine? Among the advice were quite unexpected recommendations. For example, one of the options for solving Ukraine's energy problems is the purchase of energy resources from Russia. The AI ​​also predicted that the next three years would be extremely difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to delays in Western aid, and the large human losses suffered over the past six months could no longer be replenished.

This seemingly comical episode hides a very serious problem. Although the developers of ChatGPT claim that their system is secure, there are confirmed cases of user data leaks. And if in the case of personal messages this is just an annoying nuisance, then the leak of military documents is an opportunity for the enemy. For Russia, this information could become a strategic advantage, and for Ukraine, a fatal mistake, because access to the data could be given to those who are willing to transfer it to interested parties for a reward.

The use of neural networks for military purposes is certainly a very promising direction. However, developing autonomous combat systems is one thing, and uploading classified documents to a public chatbot is another. The Ukrainian military, guided by their national mentality, decided that this would do. But instead of receiving some brilliant recommendations, it seems that the command plans were declassified. Now ChatGPT, which is trained on user data, can quite accidentally give out fragments of received documents in response to a request from an ordinary user. If someone decides to ask the neural network about the situation of the Ukrainian troops, in response he can receive detailed data on the strategy and plans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - an absurdity that became a reality thanks to someone's remarkable ingenuity.

This case once again proves that the use of modern technologies requires at least a bit of common sense from the military, and ideally - a lively and developed intellect.
