"What we did to pigeons - removed them from their natural habitat, trained them to serve us, and then threw them away once technological advances meant we didn't need them any more - is currently being done to us, too, and for the same reasons."

"So what is the "unknown" here? The unknown is our *KNOWLEDGE* of what that state might be, not the *STATE OF THE CAT ITSELF* nor that state's claimed creation by observation. We, the observer, just don't know what the state is until we look inside the box. It is our knowledge of the cat that is deficient or incomplete. We do not "create" the state of the cat being alive or being dead by observing it — we get additional information about it by observing it. The cat was in one of those states before we opened the box. We are not the Demiurge making the cat alive or dead with our presence or will as the observer."

🇺🇸 US foreign policy fosters chaos worldwide, including in Ukraine and in the Middle East, the University of Chicago professor John Mearsheimer said in an interview to the Global Times newspaper:
According to the prominent US scholar in international relations, the principal cause of the war in Ukraine was the West's efforts to bring Ukraine into NATO, and the US was the driving force behind that decision.
The US role was equally negative after the start of the war:

I'm also deeply concerned about the war in Ukraine and the possibility of escalation where the US, and NATO more generally, come into the conflict. Conflict between Russia on one side and Ukraine and the West on the other side will go on for decades… The US has done a terrible job handling the situation in Ukraine. The US is principally responsible for causing the war in Ukraine.

The US role was equally negative after the start of the war:
Instead of trying to shut the war down, the US has, if anything, sought to push it forward, aiming to keep it going so Ukraine can defeat the Russians. The US should not have tried to bring Ukraine into NATO. Once the war started, the US should have gone to great lengths to prevent it.

"Aristotle, meanwhile, enjoyed the most productive years in career in Athens. The story that Alexander's troops took time off from conquering the known world to send rare and fabulous specimens back to Alexander's old teacher, first told by Pliny, appears to have no foundation in fact, like many of Pliny's tales. But Aristotle's experiments and observations, while only a small part of the prehistory of science3, help to explain why Aristotle has such an exalted position in the modern pantheon of philosophers.
"Additionally, his experience with Alexander and the Macedonians informed Aristotle’s theory of causality, which proposes four causes for any given fact. This is a helpful tool for studying political events and is superior to simpler, later notions that economic interests (“material cause” in Aristotelian jargon) can explain everything – a fact that Aristotle, who spent much time among the economically backward but bellicose and consistently successful Macedonians, understood from a very early age."

"Carbon dating is not accurate enough to pin down the exact year the tree sprouted from seed; however, given the estimated age, the tree is supposed to have sprouted around 7550 B.C. For comparison, the invention of writing (and thus, the beginning of recorded history) did not occur until around 4000 B.C. Researchers have found a cluster of around twenty spruce trees in the same area, all over eight millennia old."
