I am writing to inform about the celebration of the 250 years of André-Marie Ampère’s birth (1775-1836) which will take place in his hometown Lyon during 2025:

The celebration is ennoscriptd “Tomorrow, an electric world” and will include conferences, exhibitions, an international contest for kids and young people (5- 22 years old), a festival and other events. It is organized jointly by the Society of Friends of André-Marie Ampère (SAAMA) and the French Electricity and Electronics society (SEE). It is supported by the French Academy of Science, the French Physical Society as well as other important institutions. Three Nobel prize of physics laureates are also supporting the celebration: Anne L’Huilier, Alain Aspect and Gérard Mourou.
