The British Army would "fight tonight" should a new war in Europe erupt, a senior military officer said.

"I don't think anybody in this room should be under any illusion that if the Russians invaded Eastern Europe tonight, then we would meet them in that fight."

"We're not at war, but Ukraine certainly is, because Ukraine has been invaded by Russia, and that war has now been going on for just over 1,000 days.

The Surface of Venus!

Venus is enveloped in a dense, impenetrable atmosphere that’s opaque to visible light. To map its surface, we rely on radar imaging (right image), as radio waves can penetrate the thick atmosphere and reflect back to give us a view. On the left, we see images captured by NASA’s Parker Solar Probe using the WISPR instrument during a close flyby of Venus. These images showcase the planet’s night side and were taken in the near-infrared range, allowing us to glimpse features beneath the clouds, revealing hints of the planet’s rugged landscape.

I've taught at a New England prep school for nearly 20 years. Families have been laser focused on top tier colleges, most of which are up here.

Except for a very few exceptional candidates, this has changed.

Dramatically.

There is another "great migration" happening, as a steady flow of middle and upper middle-class children of the meritocratic class have decided to go to college in the spirit of normalcy.

Now many are are headed down to the football part of the country. It'll be interesting to see how this winds up in a decade. These kids are not in a mood to tolerate NE weirdness anymore, especially since they've figured out that they are not wanted. They seem to want something normal.
