The True Anti-Tolkien

George RR Martin isn’t the anti-Tolkien. It’s the denizens of the Hellmouth who are desecrating JRR Tolkien’s intellectual legacy, as Fandom Pulse points out that The War of the Rohirrim is much worse, and much more intentionally subversive, than its box office failure would indicate. Hera is kidnapped by Wulf and rescued by a strong […]

"The documentary The Spider’s Web: Britain’s Second Empire, directed by Michael Oswald, uncovers the hidden mechanisms of financial power that replaced Britain’s colonial empire. With meticulous research and stark revelations, Oswald delves into how the City of London transformed into a global financial hub, orchestrating a vast network of offshore secrecy jurisdictions. This system enables tax evasion, money laundering, and wealth concealment on an unprecedented scale, allowing Britain to maintain its influence in a world shaped by decolonization. Through interviews with economists, historians, and insiders, the film reveals how financial power shifted into the shadows, creating a modern empire built not on land but on wealth manipulation."

Arkham House Ephemera

Arkham House founded by August Derleth and Donald Wandrei in 1939 was the greatest of the small press publishers of horror, the weird, and science fiction. Founded when the big publishers were not interested in a hardback collection of the stories of H. P. Lovecraft. Derleth and Wandrei decided to do it themselves. It was […]

"In short, there's still a good reason to believe that Google's latest claim that Willow could be operating in the multiverse will be debunked. Apart from Deutsch's interpretation, researchers have also suggested that quantum particles are instead in a state of all positions before measurement, a theory known as the Copenhagen interpretation."

Russia Pulls Back Troops in Syria but Retains Strategic Bases – Reuters

Russia is withdrawing troops from northern Syria and the Alawite Mountains while maintaining control over its key military bases in Tartus and Khmeimim, according to sources cited by Reuters.

Syrian military and security officials report that Moscow is relocating some equipment and senior officers back to Russia. However, the retention of these bases allows Russia to sustain its global military presence, including Mediterranean naval operations and support for missions in Africa.

Negotiations with the new Syrian administration are ongoing, leaving the long-term status of Russian troop deployment uncertain. Recent satellite imagery shows heightened naval activity near Tartus, while military convoys are reportedly moving between Khmeimim and Tartus.

"Now, the fact that the original plates from the 1919 eclipse observations have gone missing does not mean that general relativity has been falsified. Far from it.

"Nevertheless, when the raw data from one of the most famous set of observations in human history has gone missing, one naturally speculates, What is going on? So, the topic of relativity, both special and general, will likely be the subject of numerous future posts."
