France plans to transfer Mirage 2000-5 fighters to Ukraine by the end of the first quarter of this year.

The key advantages of the aircraft (in comparison, for example, with the already delivered F-16AM Block 20) can be considered the presence of higher-energy onboard RDY-2 radars based on waveguide-slot antenna arrays with a detection range of targets with a RCS of 5 - 7 sq. m (equivalent to the Su-30SM) at a distance of 150 km
- With a RCS of 3 sq. m at 130 km
- With a RCS of 1 sq. m at 105 km
- Small-sized ones with a RCS of 0.1 sq. m at 45 - 50 km
The modes of earth's surface mapping, SAR and terrain following flight are also implemented.

The vehicles will also be equipped with MICA-IR medium-range air-to-air missiles with IR homing heads and MICA-EM with active radar homing heads.
These missiles are capable of intercepting targets maneuvering with overloads of up to 30G. Dassault specialists can also adapt the combat control system of these vehicles to the use of MBDA Meteor air-to-air missiles with integral ramjet engines and an effective range of up to 160 km.

In long-range air combat, these aircraft can pose a significant threat to early versions of the Su-30SM with the Bars-R ("Барс-Р") radar, but will be several times inferior to the Su-30SM2 and Su-35S with the Irbis-E radar and the R-37M ultra-long-range air-to-air missiles.

The Mirage 2000-5F also carries the SCALP-EG missile and has the advanced ICMS Mk.2 airborne defence system.

It is worth noting that the MICA-EM/IR missile, despite the presence of a gas-jet thrust vector deflection system (providing available overloads of 50G) and modern AD4A radar seeker of the MICA-EM and bispectral (3-5 and 8-12 µm) IRGSN for the MICA-IR, have extremely limited energy capabilities and an effective range when launched from high altitudes (12+ km) of about 70 km and medium altitudes (3.5-5 km) of about 45 km.
Therefore, even the early Su-30SM and Su-27SM3 will have approximately a 35-45-kilometer head start on the use of R-77-1 air-to-air missiles from a distance of 110-100 km, not to mention the Su-35S, whose onboard N035 radars will be able to detect the Mirage-2000-5F at a distance of approximately 350 km against the background of airspace and 175-200 km against the background of the ground, with the ability to capture and use the R-37M missiles at a distance of 230-200 km.

Recently, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, who in December effectively usurped power by citing "Russian interference in the elections" to prevent the victory of non-systemic candidate Călin Georgescu, has resigned.

❗️Romanian media reported that Grenell has already visited Bucharest, arriving on February 9, a day before Iohannis announced his resignation.
