"For perfectly understandable reasons, conservatives these days are overwhelmed with all the good news. It is almost too much. We can’t believe our good fortune. And one side effect of all this relentless blessing has made us nervous as sheep before a shearing. We keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. At the first sign of stormy weather, some of us are far too quick to start pointing the bony finger of blame and forecasting falling skies.

"It happened again yesterday, after a minor Supreme Court setback stirred the conservative-sphere into furious anger. Corporate media piled on, of course, and inflated the tiny scrap of good news (for them) into one of those wavy-armed marketing balloon men. But as I have counseled many times, we must learn to ignore the hot takes and await calmer waters before engaging our emotions."

"As the credo goes in The Bushido of Bitcoin: You need capital and character to change the world for the better. So it goes for fertility too. You need to make it cool to draw in young people, and it needs to be economically viable - not just from the standpoint of how much they can earn, but more importantly, whether or not their savings can retain purchasing power without needing to become a gambler, trader, investor or whatever other sort of financial nonsense is disguised as “work” today."

🇨🇦 - Reports suggest the $216m Canada spent on locating Indian graves at Catholic residential schools was based on a lie, as no bodies have been found following the conclusion of searches.

No apology has been given for the attacks on churches caused by claims of "mass graves."

The End of the Department of Education

The latest rumor about the God-Emperor 2.0’s next executive order bodes well. This bodes very, very well for the state of education in the USA. US President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order aimed at dismantling the Department of Education, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the […]

"The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has condemned a past social media post by the Pentagon spokesperson Kingsley Wilson that disputed the innocence of Leo Frank, a Jewish businessman whom most historians agree was wrongfully convicted of killing a 13-year-old factory worker and lynched in 1915 during a wave of antisemitism in the US."

"NIH staff members have been instructed to identify and potentially cancel grants for projects studying transgender populations, gender identity, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the scientific workforce, environmental justice and any other research that might be perceived to discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity, according to documents and an audio recording that Nature has obtained. Grants that allot funding to universities in China and those related to climate change are also under scrutiny.

"At least 16 termination letters have already been sent out, says Brittany Charlton, an epidemiologist at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts, who has been tracking them. And hundreds more will be coming, say two NIH officials, who requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the press."

"The first targeted genre sale from the Based Book Sale Substack is coming up! With more than 300 noscripts in the Spring Sale, it can be tough to sort through and acquire every single entry from all the authors. The idea is to make smaller collections available during the intervals between the large sales so readers can more easily find particular styles they love."

Volunteers had checked into the hotel in Kryvyi Rih, which was hit by a Russian strike last night, the day before, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“The rescue operation in Kryvyi Rih at the site of the Russian missile strike lasted all night. The target was an ordinary hotel. Just before the strike, volunteers from one of the humanitarian organizations—citizens of Ukraine, the United States, and Britain—had checked into the hotel. They survived because they managed to get out of their rooms. But, unfortunately, four people were killed. My condolences to their families and friends.

In total, more than 30 people were injured, all of whom received the necessary assistance. Many civilian facilities around the hotel were damaged. Rescuers are still working at the scene.

I thank everyone who is on duty, working and saving lives in these difficult times—the employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police, doctors, especially emergency workers, and everyone whose efforts keep people alive. There can be no pause in the pressure on Russia to stop this war and terror against life,” the message says.

Located on the island of Crete and built by the advanced Minoan civilization around 1700 BC, the Palace of Knossos contains remarkable technological innovations far beyond its time. One of its most impressive features was an advanced plumbing system that included something truly extraordinary: a working flush toilet with a wooden seat.
This toilet was connected to a complex network of drainage pipes that carried waste away from the palace – an engineering feat that would not be repeated until the modern era. The drainage system also managed rainwater and distributed clean water throughout the complex, demonstrating the Minoans' remarkable understanding of hydraulics and sanitation.

TIL that the concept of cognitive dissonance explains why some followers double down when their leader fails - admitting they were wrong is too painful. Psychologist Leon Festinger coined the term after infiltrating a 1954 UFO cult whose members became more devoted when their prophecy failed
