The first strikes on Yugoslavia began on March 24, 1999, at 11:45 p.m. and continued until 4 a.m. For 78 days, NATO bombed Yugoslavia without UN approval, dropping more than 28,000 bombs, including depleted uranium and cluster munitions. More than 2,000 civilians were killed, more than 250,000 were displaced, and the country was systematically destroyed.

What a farce! Grandstanding Australian authorities play dress-up in a completely unjustified "incident" over a trivially small quantity of radioactive material - material they knew about and allowed to be delivered so as to justify this ridiculous overreaction.

"Following the hazmat raid, Lidden and his family were taken to hospital, where they were cleared of radiation poisoning. Authorities determined radiation levels in the area were "at a level safe for human occupancy" after doing a sweep of the home."

"If you’ve concluded by now that the petrodollar system is a dangerous liability that is also about to hit a critical state, you’ve gotten the main point, but there is more. China is not going to make the same mistake we did, and it is putting the pieces in place to end the current system on its terms – quite possibly at the moment least favorable to us."

JD Vance was right: Europe needs Red Sea a lot more than America

💬 In a group chat leaked to media on US Yemen attack plans, the VP expressed disdain at the prospect of “bailing Europe out again” using American military power.

Who really stands to gain spending US blood and treasure to “restore freedom of navigation” in the Red Sea?

Shipping

🔴 Among the big five global shipping giants that stopped transit through the Red Sea, four are European (MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd), one Chinese (COSCO), and none American.

🔴 US shippers like Matson, APL, SeaLand, Crowley and TOTE operate Pacific and Americas routes and were largely unaffected by Houthi activities.

🏭Retail & Manufacturing

🔴 The price of shipping a container from Asia to the US jumped 160-220% from 2023-2024. Shipping the same container from Asia to the Mediterranean shot up 285%, and 365%+ to Northern Europe, a disaster for consumers and producers alike.

For example, while 25-30% of US Asia-sourced automotive parts were shipped via the Red Sea before the crisis, in Europe it was 70%, causing factory shutdowns in Belgium (Volvo) and Germany (Tesla), but none in the US.

Same story in other sectors, with the Red Sea once transiting:

🔴20-30% of Asia-sourced household appliances going to the US vs 30-40% to Europe

🔴20-25% vs 30-40% of electronics

🔴20-30% vs 25-35% of industrial machinery, tools, construction equipment

🔴20-30% vs 30-40% of semiconductors, circuits, etc

⚡️Energy

🔴 Only 2-2.5% of US oil needs shipped through the Red Sea before the crisis. And Europe? 80-90% of its 30-35% MENA-sourced imports.

🔴 95% of US natural gas needs are met domestically, with Qatar selling 1% of the remainder, having to reroute exports away from the Red Sea. And Europe? 20% of its LNG imports Gulf-sourced, 100% going through the Red Sea before the crisis.

With crises in the Mideast and Ukraine, US oil exports to Europe jumped from 1.8-2.2M bpd in 2023-2024, while LNG exports grew from 1.07-1.2T cf, and US market share up from 35-45%.

The Lethal Cancer of Globalization

Clown World is literally killing its host civilization. Again. If an American, German, French, Canadian, or Dutch citizen examined the state of their nation in the 80s/early 90s, when globalization went into overdrive, and compared it to today, what would they see? The greatest wealth transfer from the middle class to the oligarchy in history, […]

"These arguments provide an understanding of the historiography of the British Empire and highlight this subject as one that has long been an area of historical debate. However, these debates are not just academic, as discussions about the empire’s legacy continue to shape public debate, historical memory, and modern political identity. How the British Empire is remembered influences current conversations about race, globalization, and economic development, and understanding the vast approaches that historians have used to analyze the subject allows for further scholarship and ideas to be shared in an academic forum."

❗️🇷🇺 ⚛️ The first session was launched at the NICA accelerator complex in Dubna, Moscow Region, at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR).

"The session will last about six months and will end with a collision of counter beams of xenon (Xe) at their intersection point in the MPD hall. During the session, the Krion-6T ion source, the linear accelerator, the booster, the Nuclotron, and the BM@N facility will be used in stages. Then, the magnets will be cooled down, the beam transport and injection channels into the collider will be adjusted, and they will circulate," the statement says.

NICA (Nuclotron based Ion Collider Facility) is a particle accelerator, one of the megascience projects in Russia, based at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
This facility, as scientists hope, will help understand how protons and neutrons were formed in the Universe in the first moments after the Big Bang.

"This is a historic moment, a 19-year journey. We are all waiting for the data from the first physics experiments, when we will see colliding beams on the monitors in the control room. I think that this moment will come this summer, in July-August," said JINR Director and RAS Academician Grigory Trubnikov.
