Why China Can’t Win the Trade War

"Many people who write papers on quantum mechanics like to keep some sense of mysticism about it, as if there’s something strange, something almost religious about the subject. I think that’s totally false. Quantum mechanics is based on a mathematical method used to describe very ordinary physical effects. I think the physical world itself is a very ordinary one that is completely classical. But in this completely classical world, there are still too many things that we don’t know today, there are “steps” we’re basically missing on our path to deeper understanding.
What sorts of steps?
"I’m talking about steps that would exploit the fact that the whole world is very simple and straightforward. The trouble is, the world still appears complicated to us now, which is why we’re in this situation."

Schumer was so passionate about imposing 27.5% tariffs on China for its "unfair" trade policy that in 2005 he busted out a nifty chart and partnered with Lindsey Graham, of all people, to try and get it done. What changed Chuck? Why is this a bad thing now?

"Do you see? Trump’s Liberation Day tariffs are are calculated with the exact same formula as the Richmans’ scaled tariffs.
"In fact, if you read Trump’s executive order, it reads as if it was written by the Richmans - or at least by someone with a copy of their book on their desk as they typed the executive order. If you compare Trump’s executive order to pages 8-11 of Balanced Trade you’ll see it for yourself. Rarely in the history of presidential policy has a scholars policy formulation been so precisely followed.
"The only difference is that Trump has also included a national strategic tariff of 10% as a baseline. Trump trade policy is simply Ian Fletcher’s Free Trade Doesn’t Work combined with the Richmans’ Balanced Trade!"

Local residents described the strikes as among the most intense since the U.S. significantly escalated its air and naval campaign against the Iranian-backed Houthi forces.
As noted by observers, there is a strong possibility that USAF B-2 stealth bombers, forward-deployed to Diego Garcia, were involved in the strike package targeting these fortified sites.

General Paul Georg Edler von Rennenkampf (1854-1918✞) was a Prussian general in the Imperial Russian Army. He was educated at the Ritter- und Domschule in Reval and the Helsingfors Junker Infantry School. He led the Lithuanian 5th Lancers Regiment and the Don Cossacks. He was said to have commanded with "stern severity, boundless kindness, and the holy icon," maintaining discipline and displaying a contempt for death. His fighting style was sudden, and his exploits were legendary. Rennenkampf, with a small detachment, defeated the Chinese forces holding a strong position along the ridge of the Small Hingan. He overtook his infantry with fourteen hundred Cossacks and a battery, and a handful of Rennenkampf's Cossacks managed to hold off a large mass of Chinese troops for several days until reinforcements arrived. During the Russian Civil War of 1918, the Bolsheviks offered him a good job, but he refused to play the Judas, and accepted martyrdom on April 1, 1918. His ribs were broken, his eyes were gouged out, and he was subsequently shot along with his 17-year-old adopted daughter, Olga.

The Solar Orbiter spacecraft has obtained unprecedented footage of the solar wind. This flow of charged particles appeared as massive spiral structures, resembling a giant cyclone. Extending outwards to a distance of up to three solar radii, these formations persisted for over three hours.
These remarkable images were captured by the Metis coronagraph aboard Solar Orbiter. Metis specializes in detecting various types of radiation emitted by the solar corona, while effectively blocking direct sunlight from the star’s surface.
Visualizing the wind's structure represents a significant step forward in understanding its nature. Previously, measurements were confined to localized points reached by the particle flow. Now, scientists have observed a comprehensive, dynamic picture, witnessing how particles accelerate, escape the Sun’s gravity, and form turbulent patterns.
Solar wind continuously interacts with Earth, affecting not only phenomena like the Northern and Southern Lights (auroras), but also influencing satellite operations, communication systems, and navigation technologies. Although its intensity varies with solar activity, the exact formation mechanisms remain unclear.
These new insights from Solar Orbiter promise to enhance our comprehension of these processes. The mission is scheduled to continue until 2026, with a potential extension through 2030.

The UK censorship regime forces Bitchute to end its services.
"After careful review and ongoing evaluation of the regulatory landscape in the United Kingdom, we regret to inform you that BitChute will be discontinuing its video sharing service for UK residents.
The significant change will be that this UK user-posted content will not be viewable by any other UK user, but will be visible to other users outside of the UK. Users outside the UK may comment on that content, which the creator will continue to be able to read, delete, block, reply and flag. Users outside the UK may share UK-user produced content to other users outside of the UK as normal. In other words, for users in the UK, including content creators, the BitChute platform is no longer a user-to-UK user video sharing service."

❗️A new investigation by Germany’s ZDF television channel has revealed that, in the days leading up to the knife attack in Mannheim, internet users in Russia were actively searching for information about a “terrorist attack in Germany.”
According to investigator Broschart, this could point to prior knowledge of the crime: “We’re actually seeing search queries from Russia about the attacker in advance — even the name — and that’s highly unusual.”
The day before the attack, Russian users were also searching for live broadcasts from Mannheim’s market square, the location of the incident. “That’s also very, very striking,” Broschart noted.
