🇵🇸 Palestine in play as speculation swirls ahead of Trump’s Mideast trip

🗣 US President Donald Trump may issue a declaration announcing America’s recognition of the State of Palestine, a Gulf diplomatic source told The Media Line.

✔️The establishment of a Palestinian state may “change the balance of power in the Middle East, and more countries will join the Abraham Accords,” the insider added.

✈️Trump is set to visit Saudi Arabia, which is hosting a Gulf-US summit in mid-May, and then the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

He has teased “one of the most important announcements that have been made in many years about a certain subject” ahead of the trip.

🤷‍♂️However, this is more likely about major economic deals than Palestine, political analysts told the outlet.

➡️Some 160 states have recognized Palestine by now. The UK is in talks with France and Saudi Arabia about officially recognizing a Palestinian state as soon as June, The Guardian reported earlier.

The Bound Tides and the Judgment of Lines

At Mont-Saint-Michel, the architecture clings to stone like a second skin—half monastery, half fortress—caught between sea and sky. The island’s shifting isolation, driven by some of the most extreme tides in Europe, created a rhythm of arrival and disappearance so precise that medieval pilgrims believed the mount itself measured time.

First claimed in 708, when Bishop Aubert of Avranches reportedly received visions from the Archangel Michael, the site was no random choice. Across Europe, Michael’s sanctuaries form a near-perfect alignment—from Skellig Michael to Monte Sant’Angelo. Whether coincidence, geomancy, or echo of older sightlines, the pattern endures. Inside the mount, Romanesque, Gothic, and cryptic layers reflect not one era but many, shaped by both prayer and power.

By the 18th century, the abbey had become a prison for political dissidents, its sacredness turned to confinement. Mont-Saint-Michel remains a monument to judgment—divine, temporal, tidal. Always between two states. Never quite part of the mainland, never fully apart from it.

Will Trump Put America First?

Simplicius reports on the recent panic in the Israeli media about the possibility that President Trump may have finally given up on the idea that what is good for the Jews is good for Americans, and in doing so, cites Jason Hickel’s apt observation of the obvious: Palestine is the rock on which the West […]

In 1719, prisoners in Paris were offered freedom on the condition that they marry prostitutes and relocate to Louisiana. This was part of a colonization strategy orchestrated by John Law, a Scottish economist and financier who was instrumental in France’s efforts to develop its Louisiana territory.

Facing challenges in attracting voluntary settlers to Louisiana, Law’s Mississippi Company resorted to populating the colony with individuals from the fringes of society. This included prisoners, prostitutes, and other marginalized individuals. In September 1719, male prisoners were released from Parisian jails under the condition that they marry female convicts—many labeled as prostitutes—and emigrate to Louisiana. These couples were often shackled together until they boarded ships bound for the colony.

The women involved, sometimes referred to as “correction girls,” were frequently rounded up from the streets, orphanages, and hospitals. Some were arrested on dubious charges or for minor offenses. The conditions during their forced migration were harsh; many suffered from disease and malnutrition, and a significant number died during the journey or shortly after arrival.

This colonization effort was short-lived. By 1720, due to protests from existing colonists and the evident failure of the scheme, the French government banned such deportations. Nevertheless, a final ship carrying prisoners arrived in 1721.

What Shakespeare Really Wrote

It’s truly fascinating to see how the Official Shakespeare Story necessarily involves all sorts of conspiracy theories and ignoring nearly all the actual evidence of the documented works, while the so-called “conspiracy theory” that Shakespeare was a lesser author who plagiarized Lord Thomas North is based in rock-solid evidence of every kind, from eyewitness observation […]
