⚡️🇺🇦🇪🇺 Ukraine accuses EU: You will force us to beg

Kiev has complained that the EU’s decision to cancel duty-free imports from Ukraine could push the country “to the brink of recession,” writes Euractiv.

The chairman of Ukraine’s Economic Affairs Committee, Dmytro Natalukha, said that the EU is “undermining Ukraine’s economic ability to continue the conflict.” He claims that Kiev is “forced to become a beggar.”

“This could create an idiotic situation in which we will be forced to come and beg you [the EU] for money, instead of simply making money through trade – which, in my opinion, is a very evil and perverse situation, because instead of trading and both sides profiting in a normal way, Ukraine is pushing itself into the position of a beggar,”

Natalukha said.

The EU Commission recently announced that Brussels will not extend duty-free imports of goods from Ukraine, and the EU is preparing to significantly increase tariffs on agricultural products from Ukraine from June 6.

A clever ploy to discount gold


“Earth's core is rich with gold, and it's leaking out through the mantle and into the crust, new research has found. Although we can access gold in Earth's crust, the amount there is an estimated minuscule fraction of the total quantity that our planet possesses. Like a dragon, Earth is hoarding most of its gold: research suggests more than 99% is in its metallic core – enough to cover all of Earth's land in gold 50cm thick.

Martian Selfie with a Twist: Perseverance Captures a Dust Devil on the Horizon

NASA’s Perseverance rover just dropped a brand-new “selfie” from Mars — but it’s not alone in the shot. Look closely at the background and you’ll spot an unexpected guest: a dust devil swirling across the Martian surface.

The vortex appears in the flat terrain to the left of the rover (horizontally aligned with it in the frame), far from the elevated area where Perseverance stands. Despite the distance — around 5 kilometers — the devil is clearly visible, adding a dynamic twist to this already impressive image.

What you’re seeing isn’t a single snapshot, but a carefully assembled mosaic made from 59 individual photos. Over the course of an hour, Perseverance used its robotic arm to capture each frame, which NASA scientists then stitched together into one seamless and detailed image.

Another reminder: even on a silent, dusty world, there’s always something stirring.
