Invisibility Cloaks and Super Lenses? Enter Metamaterials
Imagine a material that can bend light around an object, making it invisible — or a lens that sees details smaller than the wavelength of light. Sounds like science fiction? It’s real science.
🔬 Metamaterials are artificially engineered materials with properties nature never dreamed of. Their magic doesn’t come from chemistry but from structure — designed on a scale smaller than the wavelength of light, sound, or vibrations they manipulate.
They can bend electromagnetic waves in impossible ways, absorb sound like a black hole, or even become stronger under pressure instead of breaking.
These materials open doors to futuristic technologies — from cloaking devices to earthquake-proof buildings.

📱De-Googled Phones Staying Alive
Google removed device trees from Android 16, making it harder for GrapheneOS and others to build private, de-Googled phones. These trees were crucial for adapting Android to real devices—now developers must reverse engineer it all.
GrapheneOS is biting the bullet to make this happen despite this challenge. I donated $5,000 to support their work and encourage you to do the same: grapheneos.org/donate
There are few ways to use a phone privately today—and Google is making it harder. The future of private Android depends on supporting open-source alternatives.

It’s being reported that Trump gave Iran advance warning of strikes, insisting they’re a one off and does not seek a broader conflict.
It’s looking like this may have been a performative strike to take away Israel’s pretext for dragging the U.S. into war for a regime change.
Multiple sources are reporting limited damage on the sites, from different perspective and biases, (not even from Trump supporting sources), but all with this same conclusion.
Iranian authorities already reportedly said that facilities were evacuated ahead of time, there is limited damage underground and nuclear materials were removed from Fordo — which lends to the idea of this being a choreographed chess move to provide a political off ramp for the U.S. out of any public demand for the conflict.
Hopefully Iran shows more restraint and doesn’t retaliate. If they do reciprocate to save face with a limited symbolic response, it may be possible Trump decides not to retaliate and escalate further, (like the time in 2020 at Al-Assad airspace because of the limited damage and lack of casualties.) This could very well all be a choreographed wag the dog scenario to defang Israel from having an excuse to expand their ambitions of greater regional dominance.
As always, there appears to be more going on beneath the surface of the public narrative than meets the eye.
It’s still early so we’ll see what happens.

"Is 14-legged killer squid found TWO MILES beneath Antarctica being weaponised by Putin?" - Joey Millar, Express, 30NOV2016
>A KILLER giant squid that can hypnotise its prey and paralyse humans at a distance of 150 feet using poisonous venom is being developed as a secret weapon by Vladimir Putin, a scientist has claimed.
>Doctor Anton Padalka claims he was part of a Russian scientific expedition to a subterranean lake in the Arctic that discovered the terrifying creature - known as Organism 46-B.
>He said their discovery at Lake Vostok was covered up by Russian officials who are now looking at ways to weaponise and breed the deadly squid - with potentially devastating effects.
>Dr Padalka said the squid, which was discovered in a fresh water lake trapped beneath two miles of ice, possessed an array of weapons and was responsible for the deaths of at least two of his scientific colleagues on the expedition.

During Prohibition (1920–1933), the federal government banned the production, sale, and transportation of alcohol under the 18th Amendment and the Volstead Act.
But Americans kept drinking, and bootleggers kept supplying.
To stop the flow, officials at the Treasury Department didn’t just increase raids or surveillance—they decided to poison the industrial alcohol supply.
In 1926, officials escalated: they ordered companies to add lethal poisons like methyl alcohol (wood alcohol), kerosene, formaldehyde, benzene, brucine, chloroform, cadmium, zinc, mercury salts, nicotine, ether, and more—up to 10% methanol in some batches.
It was federal policy.
And they never told the public.
Nationwide: Estimated 10,000–50,000 deaths before the policy ended.
If the government could knowingly poison the alcohol supply in 1926, without telling the public, what would stop it from doing something similar today?

"The system is built around what is called the Power Receiver Array Demo (PRAD), which is a ball-like structure that has a compact aperture to allow a laser beam to enter. This beam strikes a parabolic mirror that scatters the light and shines it on an array of dozens of photovoltaic cells. These convert the laser light back into electricity.
"At the moment, DARPA is concentrating on power and distance, so the present efficiency of the system being a mere 20% is acceptable, though there are plans to improve this as the technology is scaled up."

"“Your funding, your salary increase, your tenure case is tied to agreeing with the ‘consensus.’ It’s really about careerism and resources. They all have to dance to that same drum beat if they want to get professional recognition and professional advancement,” says Dr. Judith Curry, professor emeritus at the Georgia Institute of Technology, describing the state of climate science and research in recent years.
"Despite this pressure, there is no consensus on climate change—talk of 97% of scientists agreeing that we are facing a man-made climate crisis is, according to Curry, simply a joke. She explains that scientists disagree on the most important issues surrounding climate change. For example, there is significant debate about how much of the planet’s current warming is man-made versus natural. At the same time, however, many widely held beliefs, such as the notion that a climate crisis or global warming causing more extreme weather, are simply false. According to Curry, it is also difficult to justify the claim that a few degrees of warming is dangerous in any meaningful way."
