Publicly, Iranian officials have dismissed the incidents as coincidences or blamed aging infrastructure. Privately, however, three Iranian officials — including a member of the IRGC — told The New York Times that they believe many of these incidents were acts of sabotage by Israel.

Jewish Community Watch, which started tracking accused pedophiles in 2014, said it has identified more than 60 such people who have fled from the US to Israel in that time and that the actual number is likely much larger, CBS reported. The organization said that most of its cases originate from Modern Orthodox to ultra-Orthodox communities in the US, but that it happens across the wider Jewish community as well.

House Bill 1113, just passed by Washington State Democrats, would allow courts to instantly dismiss serious charges like drug possession, DUI, theft, trespassing, and assault if defendants meet certain conditions—such as rehab or community service. Even gross misdemeanors like 4th-degree assault, 2nd-degree theft, and first-time DUI could vanish from the record.
