Baen is the New Tor

We’re seeing the old aphorism about conservatives being liberals from 20 years ago play out in the science fiction genre: Earlier this year, Fandom Pulse reported how Larry Correia saw the writing on the wall at Baen Books, a company that’s struggled to retain its identity in science fiction ever since the Sad Puppies controversy […]

GERMANY WARNS ABOUT CHINA'S LIMITS ON RARE EARTHS AND URGES COMPANIES TO CUT DEPENDENCY ON CRITICAL MATERIALS
🇨🇳🧪‼️🇪🇺🇩🇪👷‍♂️📰 ZeroHedge | Europe In The Rare Earth Trap: Up To 4 Million German Jobs At Risk As Beijing Tightens | October 16, 2025:

"Rare earth elements have become geopolitical dynamite. According to a new analysis by consultancy McKinsey & Company, up to four million jobs in Germany are on the line if top supplier China imposes a permanent export ban.

These critical minerals are indispensable to Germany’s high-tech economy: they’re used in precision sensors, specialized magnets, and control systems essential to engineering, defense, communications, and aerospace. Without them, a significant share of the country’s industrial value creation would grind to a halt.

McKinsey’s analysis, cited by Handelsblatt, puts the risk in stark numbers: one million jobs in core technology sectors could be directly threatened if supply lines collapse. These industries generate about €150 billion in annual value added — the beating heart of German innovation and manufacturing."

"James Perloff’s path to becoming one of America’s most persistent investigators of hidden history began with a mystery written on his own body—a purple lesion the size of a small golf ball on his neck that he’d carried since childhood, thinking it was just part of his anatomy. When he finally asked his mother about it, her casual response revealed everything: “Oh, you got that after one of your vaccines.” That lesion was his body’s attempt to wall off toxins from the multiple DPT shots that had triggered severe reactions throughout his infancy in 1952, reactions so extreme his mother said his skin “seemed to be falling off.” The fever, pain, and neurological damage that followed would plunge him into what he now recognizes as vaccine-induced autism, leaving him to navigate secondary school in complete isolation—punched, spit on, relentlessly ridiculed, with literally zero friends. Yet this brutal beginning would forge something unexpected: a writer who learned to see patterns others missed, an outsider whose very distance from normal social conditioning would allow him to recognize the systematic deceptions that shape our understanding of history, science, and power."

"The 2020 census was marketed as an “actual enumeration,” a neutral count of people for apportionment and funding. It was not. The same official who helped block a basic citizenship question in 2018, John M. Abowd, then the Census Bureau’s Chief Scientist, pushed through a new, opaque methodology in 2020 called differential privacy. The new system deliberately injected mathematical noise into every block count in America, turning the census from a headcount into a model with knobs. The knob that mattered most was a single parameter, epsilon, a secrecy shroud known only to a small inner circle. Abowd argued that a single added question about citizenship posed an intolerable risk to data quality because there was, he said, not enough time to test it. Then he rushed an untested algorithm that altered every count in every neighborhood. The irony is so sharp it cuts: the man who warned that one question might distort the census approved a method that guaranteed distortion."

The Mediocrity was Inevitable

The modern sacralization of democracy is one of the intellectual abominations of Clown World. And the reasons why the great writers of the past disdained democracy and had such low expectations for it have been more than demonstrated by the rise and fall of the Western democracies. Such as, for example, Zeno of Elea: The […]

🇺🇸👨‍🌾 Meriwether Farms on X:

Dear Trump,

We love you and support you— but your suggestion to buy beef from Argentina to stabilize beef prices would be an absolute betrayal to the American cattle rancher.

We understand there are larger economic and geopolitical dynamics at play, including countering CCP influence in countries in our hemisphere. But the practice of solving problems “over there” before solving problems here on our soil is what contributed to the downfall of our country: Americans always come last.

We understand beef prices are high, and we admire your concern for all Americans, but this is not the fault of the American producer. This is the fault of politicians who have allowed BRICS-aligned entities to dominate the meat industry, that participate in price fixing and who also continually lie to their consumers.

Washington for decades has facilitated the squeezing of our own ranchers while allowing these entities to flood the market with cheaper, lower-quality imports -- and the American people don't even know these products are foreign because they are allowed to be marked as “Product of the USA”.

On top of all this—there is only chaos coming from the Department of Agriculture. There is no true guidance, mixed messaging, and a copious amount of photo ops. There is no one to trust over there that truly understands the issues and isn’t bought out by or aligned with Big Industries.

The American cattle rancher is one of the last symbols of independence we have in the nation—but the continued manipulation and betrayal by the very people who claim to support them, needs to end immediately.

While only representing 1% of the population, the work is tireless, daily, in poor conditions, with low margins, without thanks— all in order to keep this country fed. We would be a failed nation if we continue to betray the very people who put food on the table for us.

There are so many voices on the outside that support you and want to see you succeed. Maybe it’s time to start listening to them. Your team knows how to get in touch with us.

Sincerely,
🔗 Meriwether Farms

"Why were the monasteries destroyed? They were rich, but that wasn’t enough. Even kings were restrained by Parliament and popular opinion. Closing hundreds of monasteries requires a large force of people willing to do it, even assuming no resistance.

"It appears that modern academics are convinced it was all an evil plot by Henry VIII to satisfy his personal needs and the monks themselves were largely blameless; historical evidence doesn’t support this view, being filled as it is with evidence that the monks were not only hypocritical to absurd extremes but also widely hated and literal fraudsters much of the time. So modern historians are reduced to claiming all the evidence is made up propaganda (it’s just asserted that this is so, not shown)."
