🇫🇷Brigitte Macron, the wife of the President of France Emmanuel Macron, is registered as a man in the tax registry.

This was reported by the BFM TV channel, citing a representative of the First Lady of France, Tristan Brome.

According to her, Brigitte recently discovered that on the French tax website her gender is listed as male, and the name is recorded as Jean-Michel. The First Lady has already filed a complaint.

It should be noted that since 2017, a conspiracy theory has been actively discussed that Macron's wife is actually a man who underwent a gender transition. These rumors have been repeatedly denied by Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron.

"This has always felt like the ur-North Korea story to me, because it has a little bit of everything. First of all, it’s delightfully madcap — they KIDNAPPED RANDOM PEOPLE on BEACHES using SUBMARINES and they did it for DECADES. Second, it’s full of bizarre irony. The North Koreans got away with this scot-free until, in a gesture of goodwill and altruism designed to improve relations with Japan, they fessed up and tried to make things right…at which point everything blew up in their faces and had the exact opposite effect."

Some good advice in the vein of why following conventional writing guidelines aren't always the answer.

"[W]hen you sand down every odd phrase, risky word, and deviation from the rules, you erase your fingerprint. And in so doing, you turn art into content."

"Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) traces its origins to 19531, began to take shape in the 1970s, was touched upon in Blair’s 1991 article in Marxism Today, and gained momentum through Agenda 21. However, it took a scandal of epic proportions for it to gain major traction. And that disaster occoured in December, 2001, with the largest bankcuptcy in American history at the time: Enron."

"I find the most effective way to get a chatterbox of either sex to slow their roll long enough to let me get a word in, if I feel there is any need for one, is to simply stare at them while they’re talking and refrain from making any noise at all. No “mm hmm”, no “yeah okay”, none of those little conversational encouragements that provide more fuel for the extended and repetitive replay. Even the most loquacious chatterbox seems to find a complete lack of response to be disconcerting enough to make them realize what they’re doing.

"So control your tongue. Not only because it’s annoying, unattractive, and low-status, but because people can only keep three things at a time in their minds anyhow. Which, of course, is why it is absolutely pointless to say anything that involves more than three total concepts at a time."

TIL Apple engineers code-named the Macintosh 7100 "Carl Sagan". Sagan sent Apple a cease-and-desist letter. In response, Apple changed the codename to "BHA" ("Butt-Head Astronomer"). Sagan then sued Apple for libel. After settling, the Mac 7100's final code-name was "LaW" ("Lawyers are Wimps").

"Burroughs Wellcome took evolution’s most successful virus—one that survived by being harmless—and made it mean something it never meant. The absurdity is almost incomprehensible. People lose more sleep over herpes than HPV, which actually causes cancer. They panic more about cold sores than chlamydia, which can make you infertile. Ask any doctor off the record—they’re exhausted by it. They spend more time managing herpes anxiety than treating actual symptoms."

The Dancing Nurses of Covid-19

I never understood what purpose those stupid dancing nurse videos were supposed to serve, nor did I realize how prevalent they were since I wasn’t on Twitter, Tik-tok, or Facebook. But since I was personally acquainted with two nurses during that time, I was aware that they were nonsense and that real nurses working in […]

"Google AI explains the consequences of Judge Jones’s decision: “The intelligent design (ID) movement is no longer a prominent force due to its significant legal and scientific setbacks, most notably the Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District court case in 2005. This ruling found that ID is a form of religious creationism, not a scientific theory, and therefore its teaching in public school science classes is unconstitutional.” The “scientific setbacks” included ad hominem attacks and losing one’s job for questioning Mr. Darwin."
