A Quiet Sensation: What Does the MS-21 Flight from Irkutsk to Zhukovsky Really Tell Us?

Without fanfare and with little public attention, the fully import-substituted MS-21-310 completed a flight from Irkutsk to Zhukovsky. One wonders where the press services of UAC, Rosaviatsiya, UEC, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade were during this moment.
By now, the import-substituted MS-21-310 could fairly be called an aircraft that has been unjustly maligned.

Despite its industrial might, the USSR never succeeded in building a modern counterpart to the Boeing 737.

The three-engine Tu-154 burned fuel at an extraordinary rate and was removed from civil service in the early 2010s.

The Tu-204, the last Soviet passenger jet, was overweight, and there was no funding to refine it.

In the difficult 1990s, the Yakovlev Design Bureau embarked on the Yak-242 project, which later evolved into the MS-21.

With the aviation industry in ruins, producing every part and component domestically was considered unrealistic, so reliance on imported systems was deemed necessary.

Engines and the “Black Wing”

The first priority was engines. Western designs were far more fuel-efficient, and the MS-21-300 was initially equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines. Russia, meanwhile, was still developing the new PD-14 engine with 14 tons of thrust. A lighter airframe was also required, leading to the decision to create a composite—or “black”—wing.

With the new airframe and engines, the aircraft was expected to achieve fuel consumption of just 2.1 tons per hour.
Passenger comfort was improved by widening the fuselage.

The Collapse of Import Dependence

Reliance on imports began to fall apart as early as 2018. At that time, Japan was among the world leaders in composite technologies—and it refused to supply wing materials.
President Putin responded sharply:

They simply stopped supplying composite materials for our wing on grounds of unfair competition. What is this? It’s outright misconduct on the global market, violating every recognized rule and principle.

Fortunately, Russia had its own composite research to fall back on. The wing was successfully replaced with a domestic version, though it became 300 kg heavier.

Mass production was postponed to 2022.

By 2022, imported aircraft systems and Pratt & Whitney engines became entirely unavailable.
Everything had to be substituted: engines, avionics, and onboard systems.
By 2025, nearly all systems had been domestically produced.

One should also recall that major Western aircraft manufacturers, Airbus among them, were caught giving bribes to individuals in Russia and elsewhere.

Internal Problems: Russia’s Persistent Weakness

As often happens, Russia’s greatest obstacles have been internal. Airlines were once fed up with the support (or lack thereof) for the Tu-204 and its engines:

The only issue was support from the designers—PAO Tupolev. Because of this, Red Wings ceased operating the type. There was no extension: the aircraft reached their calendar limits and were grounded at the same time.

The Tu-204’s service life proved short.
Operating it became economically impractical due to the small fleet size, which created chronic shortages of spare parts and technical specialists.
Maintenance support is a crucial problem rarely discussed.
Foreign manufacturers maintain extensive global support networks.
The otherwise competitive Superjet often sat idle both in Russia and abroad due to service difficulties.

📹❗️Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov carried out an inspection of Russian military facilities and units of the Russian Armed Forces stationed in Tajikistan.

In this country is located the 201st Military Base of the Russian Armed Forces, where several thousand servicemen of the Russian Army are stationed on a permanent basis. Local units are equipped with T-72B3M tanks (2024 variant), BTR-82ATs, 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers, and VPK Tigr armored vehicles. All of the above equipment is fitted with additional and simplified anti-drone protection kits.

Recently, units from this base took part in exercises on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

In addition to the 201st Military Base, the minister also visited another important and indeed unique Russian Armed Forces facility in Tajikistan: the Okno optical-electronic space surveillance complex. It consists of a group of specialized telescopes that make it possible to detect any object in Earth orbit (primarily satellites, of course). The complex has been in operation since 1999.

Some technical characteristics of the Okno complex:
Optical-electronic search and detection station:
— Operating spectral range: visible; field of view in azimuth: 0–360°; in elevation: 30–90°
— Operating altitude range: up to 50,000 km
Optical-electronic station for measuring angular coordinates and photometry:
— Operating spectral range: visible; field of view in azimuth: 20–90°; in elevation: 5–90°
— Objective diameter of the narrow-angle channel: 235 mm; maximum angular tracking speed: 3.7°/s

It is also capable of tracking low-orbit space objects at altitudes from 120 to 2,000 km.

🏎🇷🇺Hundreds of Porsche Owners in Russia Unable to Start Cars After System Failure

Hundreds of Porsche vehicles across Russia have been rendered undriveable after a failure in their factory-installed satellite security system, according to reports from owners and dealerships.

Drivers in Moscow, Krasnodar and other cities began reporting sudden engine shutdowns and fuel-delivery blockages last week, effectively immobilizing their vehicles.

Rolf, Russia’s largest dealership group, said service requests spiked on Friday as cars lost connection to their onboard alarm modules, which are linked via satellite.

The outage affects all Porsche models and engine types, and any vehicle could potentially lock itself automatically, a Rolf representative told the RBC news website.

Don’t Buy New Cars

I never intend to buy a post-2010 car again. Thousands of Porsche vehicles across Russia automatically shut down. The cars lock up and engines won’t start due to possible satellite interference. Many speculate the German company is carrying out an act of sabotage on EU orders. No official comments yet. Any modern car can do […]

Porsche owners throughout Russia are reporting that their vehicles have become immobile due to a failure of the factory satellite alarm system, the Rolf dealership network told RBC on December 1.

The surge in service requests began on November 28.
The outage was first highlighted by the Telegram channel Shot, which said that hundreds of Porsche vehicles had “turned into bricks” in cities including Moscow and Krasnodar. Drivers described being unable to start or unlock their cars as the system abruptly went offline.

"The largest game we have done to date was a 1700's inspired battle consisting of 15,000 1/32 miniatures, over 100 cannon and a few hundred cavalry men", Beck says. The initial fight "lasted five days" with "an ensuing campaign that resulted in four more battles over the next two weeks".

"By failing to note his influencers and predecessors, like Poincaré and Hendrik Antoon Lorentz (1853–1928), Einstein created lasting disputes about the extent to which his thinking was original and how much it was derivative. Max Born shared Einstein’s account, decades after the fact, of what Einstein recalled as his influencers, and historians have done extensive detective work to piece together the sources and references on which Einstein may have relied. The point is, they should not have had to do this. Einstein exhibited a shockingly cavalier attitude toward citing references throughout his career."

🐣 It happened. Our decentralized confidential compute network, Cocoon, is live. The first AI requests from users are now being processed by Cocoon with 100% confidentiality. GPU owners are already earning TON. https://cocoon.org is up, with docs and the source code.

🤔 Centralized compute providers such as Amazon and Microsoft act as expensive intermediaries that drive up prices and reduce privacy. Cocoon solves both the economic and confidentiality issues associated with legacy AI compute providers.

🚀 Now we scale. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be onboarding more GPU supply and bringing in more developer demand to Cocoon. Telegram users can expect new AI-related features built on 100% confidentiality. Cocoon will bring control and privacy back where they belong — with users. 🤖

🚨 Ignore the rhetoric. Watch the patterns:

French army chief says public must be ready for high-intensity warfare—tonight. Hospital wards are being prepped (France, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Estonia and Latvia). Train after train rolls east with heavy armor. Drone incursion theatrics are labeled false flags by Russia, with rumors Ukraine is planning an even bigger false flag swirling.

Trump greenlights long-range strikes into Russia. Gold and silver are spiking.

The Vaccine passport Digital ID rollout has been met with a lackluster response, so they’ll flip the table. A complete collapse the West — like that the Deagle predictions describe — is not inconceivable. For each of DoD, ARPA-H, Palantir/Ginkgo, there is a mirror copy in China/BRICS, equally ready to be deployed after what may lay ahead.

A giant, protracted war offers escape from broken economies and perfect leverage for installing biometric controls and digital rationing, a permanent surveillance state that will never roll back "afterwards."

The Overton window may not have caught up with these recent escalations, but the pattern is clear.

Prepare accordingly. 🙏
