In any case: if you work in a PCR testing lab and have recently seen extremely low cycle threshold counts in people who were (presumably) vaccinated - I know you can’t know, but I also know you can sometimes guess - please contact me at alexberensonauthor@gmail.com. (Similarly, if you have access to a hospital/nursing home database, that will also work. I am not looking for anything HIPAA-protected, just trends.)

As America decays into a decentralized empire like the Holy Roman Empire, we see there are wildly different precedents set dependent on who the local lords are. In one princedom, a man gets politically crucified for bad optics around a junkie dying of an overdose.
In another province, even the guy who was filming is getting ridden to prison on a rail over politics. Even the guys involved directly are on film stopping a guy from grabbing a gun right out of their hands.
Yet in another small kingdom, someone is cleared for defending himself against antifas who normally enjoy ironclad legal immunity.

What is going on? As time passes, people will realize these precedents indicate de facto boundaries within the empire and will begin to figure who can do what where under what circumstances.
I anticipate that people may begin to self-sort in a way that hasn't yet been seen in modern world which will only deepen regional divisions...

WE WELCOME THE NEW "DARK AGES!" Seriously, the Roman Empire was a fascist state held together by technology (roads, the phonetic alphabet) that enabled both the rapid extension of commerce and militarization. When the Roman Empire ceased to be able to control its margins (e.g. Britain), local warlords took over the tax collecting and maintenance of infrastructure (read Gregory of Tours on the Franks), while the bishops oversaw (lit: "bishop" means "overseer") the care of the cities. Rodney Stark makes the excellent point in his history of the West that it was this de-centralization that gave rise to Europe's vitality—all the local experiments in government that we call the "Dark Ages," before the "Enlightened" monarchs of modernity came along with their centralization (assisted by the technology of the printing press). Do not weep for the fall of the West—at least not the West founded on "Enlightenment" principles of standardization and mechanical reproduction. Celebrate the rise of the local, the hand-crafted, the organic, and the medieval. We are living at the beginning of a new Golden Age of creativity and growth!
