Yet in another small kingdom, someone is cleared for defending himself against antifas who normally enjoy ironclad legal immunity.

What is going on? As time passes, people will realize these precedents indicate de facto boundaries within the empire and will begin to figure who can do what where under what circumstances.
I anticipate that people may begin to self-sort in a way that hasn't yet been seen in modern world which will only deepen regional divisions...

Rodney Stark makes the excellent point in his history of the West that it was this de-centralization that gave rise to Europe's vitality—all the local experiments in government that we call the "Dark Ages," before the "Enlightened" monarchs of modernity came along with their centralization (assisted by the technology of the printing press). Do not weep for the fall of the West—at least not the West founded on "Enlightenment" principles of standardization and mechanical reproduction. Celebrate the rise of the local, the hand-crafted, the organic, and the medieval. We are living at the beginning of a new Golden Age of creativity and growth!
