Was just thinking about how so many European surnames derive from jobs or trades, and if people 1000 years from now used today’s jobs as surnames, what would that look like.

John Influencer.
George Camgirl.
Dave Salesrep.
Mary Nutrionist.
Ryan Therapist.

Then I got thinking about how it seems like there was a cut off point where jobs stopped being used as surnames. When and why did that happen?

Also it’s kind of amusing to note which jobs were used as surnames. Baker is a surname, but Butcher isn’t. 🤔 Why?

We have Cooper, Smith, Taylor, Fletcher, but no Writer, Actor, Builder, Barman,…why didn’t they become surnames?

These are the things I think about on lazy Sunday afternoons.

EDIT: I should say Butcher isn’t as common a surname as Baker. According to the internet, Baker is the 37th most common surname in England, whereas Butcher comes in at 393. In the US it’s even less common, ranked at 1,546.

But surely butchers were just as prevalent in old time societies as bakers, so the huge discrepancy in popularity as a surname is interesting.

For me, much good has resulted from the fake pandemic.

- I now question the need for ANY vaccine;
- I now question everything I've been taught about history;
- I no longer trust "the science";
- I've realised most domestic affairs are downstream from global affairs.

You?

‼️🇷🇺 Poseidon is a robotic nuclear submarine of compact dimensions. Its diameter does not exceed two meters, its length is 20 meters and its weight is about 100 tons. At the same time, it can move at a depth of up to 1 km at a speed of up to 200 km / h. The characteristics are truly fantastic, since the speed of modern nuclear submarines is half that.

Poseidon is the largest torpedo in the world. Its weight is thirty times that of the average standard torpedo.

One of the striking factors of "Poseidon" is a giant tsunami caused by a nuclear explosion under water off the coast of the enemy. Such an artificial megatsunami will reach a height of 300-500 meters and will be able to go deep into the mainland up to 500 km on flat terrain.

Also, Poseidon is a Russian weapon that can infect coastal cities with radiation. According to experts, the torpedo will be equipped with a warhead with a yield of up to 100 Mt.

However, the tasks of the drone include not only the delivery of warheads to the shores of the enemy. It will also be able to carry out reconnaissance missions at a great distance. The torpedo will not act alone. The armament will be a swarm of drones, that is, a large number of drones that will operate in a coordinated manner. And also, according to experts and the designers themselves, Poseidon can be a carrier of torpedoes and mines.

According to experts, Poseidon can be used to detonate an atomic bomb in dangerous geophysical zones, which will provoke serious natural disasters on enemy territory. For example, by collapsing the southwestern slope of the Snaifelsjokull volcano in Iceland, you can get a giant wave that will move in a southwesterly direction.

The use of nuclear weapons in dangerous geophysical zones can be even more effective means of destruction than inflicting nuclear strikes directly on enemy territory.

‼️🇷🇺 The crew of the special-purpose nuclear submarine "Belgorod" has completed a series of throw tests of the Poseidon torpedo mock-up, the source said.

According to him, "the purpose of the throw tests was to check the operation of the Poseidon launch system, it has been achieved."

Secret ingredient found to help ancient Roman concrete self-heal

Concrete is the most commonly used building material in the world, but it’s not impervious to damage. Weather and stress can lead to tiny cracks, which can grow into much larger cracks that eventually threaten the integrity of the entire structure. That can require expensive maintenance or replacement to prevent catastrophic failure.

In contrast, ancient Roman structures have stood the test of time for more than two millennia. To find out how, scientists have long examined samples of the material under microscopes to study the composition and uncover the ingredients that bestow such strength.

The replication crisis is the long death of social science's credibility, but makes it easier to pursue policies and conjure studies to confirm it post hoc or to have it ready for the policy to be deployed.

Covid is the best example of this, although the same has been done for gender ideology, consent, and social media censorship.

This is a must read.

1. The experiences of the human race have been recorded, in more or less detail, for some four thousand years. If we attempt to study such a period of time in as many countries as possible, we seem to discover the same patterns constantly repeated under widely differing conditions of climate, culture and religion.
2. The only thing we learn from history,’ it has been said, ‘is that men never learn from history.’
3. If we desire to ascertain the laws which govern the rise and fall of empires, the obvious course is to investigate the imperial experiments recorded in history

Two issues in Britain are running side by side at the moment. Extremely high excess death among natives (for whatever reason) and the highest levels of immigration in history. The logic of Globalism means that those dying can simply be replaced by foreigners because humans are interchangeable.

We can see here the way that Globalism devalues a population, to the point of making it worthless. If mass immigration was banned a government would have an incentive to value the population which it ruled over. As it stands the endless flow of human capital allows that government to view the native stock with complete indifference, if not contempt.

Nationalism on the other hand has (or should have) the inherent value of the native stock at its core. Our people are not widgets that can be exchanged or replaced, and they're not inconvenient statistics when they die.
