Canadian Justice R. T. Bennett got it right: the courts should NOT take judicial notice that the vaccines are "safe and effective." The health authorities are stating opinions, not facts.

The US State Department-funded Global Disinformation Index punished conservative websites by throttling their advertising revenue if they gave credence to the COVID-19 lab leak theory, despite it subsequently proving likely true.

"In the bill, Brodeur wrote that those who write “an article, a story, or a series of stories,” about “the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, a Cabinet officer, or any member of the Legislature,” and receives or will receive payment for doing so, must register with state offices within five days after the publication of an article that mentions an elected state official.
"Failure to file these disclosures or register with state officials, if the bill passes, would lead to daily fines for the bloggers, with a maximum amount per report, not per writer, of $2,500. The per-day fine is $25 per report for each day it’s late."

"Locals in Lincoln County, Tennessee say an out-of-control black "whiskey fungus" known as Baudoinia compniacensis, fueled by ethanol vapor from the Jack Daniel's facilities, has been a menace since the famous liquor company started building six barrel houses in 2018 and launched plans to build 14 more. Now infuriated residents are demanding the company and the county answer for the damage and sinking property values and prove the ethanol-filled air is safe to breathe."

Musk makes a very good point. A single World Government creates an unprecedented single point of failure risk for humanity.
Imagine a world all run under one digital system. It is easy to envisage numerous modes of failure that could destroy the integrated whole, with nowhere to go.
In fact, that’s a VERY likely outcome.
No civilisation has lasted very long, usually a few hundred years, and that was in the very slowly developing past.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a single integrated planet failed catastrophically before full integration was accomplished, mostly because of supply chain dependency. A break in fertiliser production in a hyper efficient world would trigger global food shortages, mass starvation and total breakdown.
With no fallback position, regression would continue until there were physically too few people to be able to organise themselves to fight for the diminishing food & other vital resources.
The arrogance of the World Government types knows no bounds and ironically most of them couldn’t grow any food or repair a single machine. Nor would they know how to even begin to establish small scale manufacturing of a single essential medicine.
They couldn’t strip a redundant facility or object to make other similar facilities or objects operational.
Perhaps they could learn how to till the fields? Because in the case of collapse, that’s what almost 100% of us would be doing if the ambition was to be alive in a years time.
Dreadful though it would be to go from our hyper connected world to a peasant economy, a much more gargantuan Reset, taking out the oligarchs, could yield an at least temporarily more peaceful, pastoral world consisting of dozens or hundreds of small civilizations.
One thing I’d vote for, ironically, is never to reconnect the internet. I love it. But without it, what’s now happening would be completely impossible. Back to the 1990s, this time with no smartphones?
Best wishes
Mike

Denial: My story does NOT have too much courtroom content.
Anger: They just don't appreciate clever legal dueling!
Bargaining: Maybe I could tighten it up... a bit.
Depression: They're right! But how can I delete such lovely prose?
Acceptance: CTRL-X
The good news: The Wise of Heart is now 10% shorter at 79k words or about 250 pages with the illustrations. It will read faster and be a tighter story.
The bad news: the material I'm cutting is most of the last three week's worth of installments on Arktoons and Substack!
