"During the final minutes of the Trump presidency, an obscure company in South Florida announced to the world’s computer networks that it would begin managing a massive swath of the Internet owned by the U.S. military.
"In the months since, the company has claimed control of nearly 175 million IP addresses. Such huge chunks of traditional Internet real estate, amounting to almost six percent of usable addresses in the original addressing scheme of the Web, would be worth billions of dollars on the open market.
"With no public explanation of what had taken place, the dramatic shift in IP address space allotment sparked impassioned speculation among network administrators and the Internet industry. That interest only increased when the Pentagon, after weeks of inquiries from The Washington Post, finally offered an explanation."

Dr. James Lindsay presents the idea and mechanism of negating the real to replace it with a hyperreal simulation in which totalitarianism can be accomplished. This, he argues, enables the installation of the Esoteric cult religion needed to advance the tyranny. Join him to understand how the Secret Religions of the West have slowly brought us to the brink of this disaster. https://sovereignnations.com/2023/01/26/the-negation-of-the-real-james-lindsay

Self-Reliance In The Semi-Conductor Industry.
I am particularly happy that one of my subscribers thinks I am intelligent enough to tackle such a complex political and economic subject, but here we are.
So, in simple English, let's go.
The semiconductor industry refers to the industry that is responsible for the production of microchips, what are microchips? Very important tiny pieces inside electronic devices of all kinds and sizes could be in your phone or could be in a nuclear submarine or a main battle tank.
Now the world is getting more digital, more digital means more electronics, more electronics means more microchips, and more microchips needed means that the players involved in this industry have to produce more.
A solid majority of the production of semi-conductors is located in Asia, in China, Japan, South Korea, and this province called Taiwan, technological hubs where we've had the likes of TSMC, Samsung, Sony, Hyundai, LG or whatever they're called, the point is they're few and far in between.
But there starting to be a conflict, Washington doesn't like Beijing, and there's a new cold war, and the digital area is going to be a new arena, so America and the North World, that is Europe, wish to limit access of their adversaries to their advanced technologies, because when you keep throwing sanctions everywhere, it may lead to unpleasant results.
And even if there were no sanctions, having your local industry is important to national security, would you like the microships coming from a state entity that is hostile to your interests? I would not, and I don't want my supply chains to be vulnerable, and I also want my economy to improve - bigger industry means bigger factories which means more workers, it is expensive, but I think it'll be worth it.
