An ancient ship at the bottom of the lake

In Italy, a large-scale archaeological expedition was conducted on Lake Nemi at the beginning of the 20th century.

A ship 60 meters long and 20 meters wide was discovered. It had marble columns, floors and statues, and ceramic pipes installed to heat the floors.

What's amazing: the hull was lined with triple lead plating. And this in 54 A.D.!

Charles Hatfield - The Man Who Sold Rain

Early in his career, Hatfield studied meteorology, physics, chemistry, bought chemicals, and conducted experiments. In 1902, he obtained a secret mixture of 23 chemicals that caused precipitation in the form of rain.

At first he made the usual bets. Eventually Hatfield began to sell rain for money. His fame grew and he was already contracting for thousands of dollars. In 1928 Hatfield filled Big Bear Lake with rain water, and a year later he extinguished a fire in Honduras.

Charles died on January 12, 1958, without revealing the secret formula for the powder. Hatfield caused more than 500 rainstorms during his career.
