Windows 11 BitLocker Encryption has been BYPASSED!

Researchers have shown a method to bypass bitlocker using physical attacks. This attack is done by checking and capturing contents of RAM while the computer boots up. Why? Because bitlocker encryption key is temporarily stored when the PC is booting. A person can just restart while the pc is booting and dump the RAM to extract Full Volume Encryption Keys. (FVEK)

LOL even Bitlocker is not secure anymore!!!

Hey everyone.

The Rectify11 mod team is in need of some help with testing. I'll drop a message from their announcement channel below:

We're in a dire need for testers who have 4K or higher resolution displays and use 200% or higher scaling on their Windows installs to test the Rectify11 themes.
We're receiving reports that the theme doesn't work.

Steps:
1. Download and install SecureUXTheme. https://github.com/namazso/SecureUxTheme/releases/tag/v3.0.0
2. Extract the Rectify11 .theme files and Rectified folder from here to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. If you run 21H2, extract RectifiedLegacy only. Otherwise, extract Rectified only. https://github.com/Rectify11/Installer/tree/legacy-installer/Resources/Themes/themes
3. Open SecureUXTheme and test the four Rectify11 themes with the high-resolution display.

React with 👍 or 👎 depending on your testing's result.

Valve has finally licensed its first official handheld gaming console, shipping it with SteamOS!

This is a big milestone for Linux gaming as now, valve has started licensing handhelds, with Lenovo Legion Go S, that will ship with SteamOS.

Valve has also announced they'll improve compatibility with other handheld devices.

Well, from the way it's going, I'm really expecting to see SteamOS officially shipping on PC! ^ ^

They have announced SteamOS Beta to come out even before the Lenovo Legion releases!

I'm really excited for this, Linux gaming has improved by tons recently. Now all that is left is anti-cheats. A revolution is happening in front of these corporates and it'd be stupid for companies like Ubisoft and EA to ignore this and not support their anticheat on Linux.

I didn't say 2025 will be the year of Linux, but we're getting there, step-by-step.

After using KZ x HBB PR2 in a month, here are my final thoughts:

• This IEM is fun and energetic, I love the sound signature for this.
• The mid sounds are clean, without any discoloration from the lows and highs.
• The soundstage is good, yes good.
• As a basshead, you might need another eartips (the stock ones sucks balls). You can use Sony EX-EP11.
• The shhh is kinda aggressive in some songs (sibilance), you might need to lower your volume, or maybe grab a DAC. I recommend to grab a 100mW DAC because this IEM is power hungry, VE Odo is enough.
• Stock cable is fucked as always, you might need to grab another cable (NiceHCK, FAAEAL, or K-BEAR 2-PIN/C-PIN 8-core).

TikTok Ban Sparks Rise of RedNote in the US

As TikTok faces a critical Supreme Court hearing this Sunday (over an immediate nationwide ban), The app’s uncertain future has ignited debates about national security and could reshape the US social media landscape if a shutdown is enforced.

Amid this turmoil, China’s RedNote (Xiaohongshu) app is rapidly gaining popularity and users, termed as "Tiktok refugees" are shifting to RedNote en masse.
With innovative features and an expanding user base, RedNote is positioning itself as a strong alternative to TikTok. Although some believe the migration to RedNote is just a short fad, its growth is undeniable and could change everything considering this is the first time Americans and Chinese are on one platform which is behind the great Chinese firewall.

Personally I think xiaohongshu is great(yes it works in India, and the Chinese on the app are obsessed with cats)

Apple's new feature: Made In Arizona

TSMC starts operations in their shiny new factory in Arizona for manufacturing 4nm chips.

In April, Commerce said TSMC expects to begin high-volume production in its first U.S. fab by the first half of 2025, finalizing a $6.6 billion grant in November to TSMC's U.S. unit for semiconductor production in Phoenix, Arizona.

Raimondo wants the United States to make 20% of world's leading-edge logic chips by 2030 -- up from the 0% before TSMC began production in Arizona.

Microsoft plans to end support for Office on October 14th, 2025

As the push for Windows 11 continues, Microsoft is continuing to cut off support for the predecessor, Windows 10.

“Microsoft 365 apps will no longer be supported after October 14, 2025, on Windows 10 devices,” the company announced today. While it does mean the apps will still continue working (even if there are no guarantees), they will not receive any more updates, so, customers will have to adapt to either using the web version of Office, or, turn to FOSS alternatives such as LibreOffice. The recent standalone Microsoft Office 2024 package is available for Windows 10, though, and will be supported for at least a few years (Microsoft doesn't have an exact end-of-life date right now).

What is their motive to cut the updates? Well, they claim that "it is to improve performance and introduce new fixes, features and patches" and "anyone who doesn't update to Windows 11 puts their computer at risk".

TikTok users are flocking to another popular short-form content app

As the ban on TikTok is set to happen on Jan 19th in the United States (a day before Trump's inauguration), TikTok users are flocking to a popular alternative called RedNote (id est, Xiaohongshu, which also translates to "little red book").

RedNote was initially a shopping app launched in 2013, but it soon became a social media platform for videos. It received 700k users in just two days - a fraction of TikTok's 150 million users.

The TikTok immigrants are, surprisingly, trying to communicate well with the Chinese speakers and they are even trying to learn their language and learn about their culture and lifestyle. Wholesome, no?

UEFI Secure Boot Vulnerability can bypass Secure Boot

CVE-2024-7344 resides in a UEFI application signed by Microsoft's "Microsoft Corporation UEFI CA 2011" third-party UEFI certificate.

Successful exploitation of the flaw can lead to the execution of untrusted code during system boot, thereby enabling attackers to deploy malicious UEFI bootkits on machines that have Secure Boot on, irrespective of the operating system installed.

Secure Boot is a firmware security standard that prevents malware from loading when a computer starts up by ensuring that the device boots using only software that is trusted by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The feature leverages digital signatures to validate the authenticity, source, and integrity of the code that is loaded.
