Traditional consensus mechanisms focus on a single truth that all participants in a layer 1 network must agree on.

The concept of existing consensus and its necessity could ensure a high level of security and trust.

However, system throughput, speed, and scalability were severely limited, earning Ethereum the shiny noscript of “the world’s slowest computer.”
