Warning‼️

Do not install Anki 25.02.1. Anki 25.02.1 removes Japanese pitch accent information from notes if the information was generated by AJT Japanese. And it does so without any warning.

Example of what AJT Japanese usually generates:

What is left after running Anki:

You will lose pitch accent information on your cards if you install 25.02.1.

Install Anki 25.02.4 instead. It appears to have fixed the problem.

Something happened to the ImmersionKit API that we use to search Japanese sentences online in the Cross Profile Search And Import Anki add-on. The API documentation hasn't been updated yet, so there's no clear way to diagnose or fix the issue. Expect the "Web Search" feature to be non-functional.

1️⃣ Expanded the built-in pitch accent database using Wadoku data. AJT Japanese now includes pitch accents for 377,552 words.
2️⃣ Added an option to analyze known kanji. Press "AJT" > "Analyze known kanji...".

kaikki-to-rikaitan releases rearranged

There's a new GitHub rule that limits each release to 1,000 files. This affects our Kaikki dictionaries for Rikaitan, since there are several thousand dictionary files. As a workaround, we've grouped dictionaries so each definition language has its own tag. For example, the latest release is v25.10.12, so to download dictionaries with English definitions, get the files from the v25.10.12_en tag:

✅ The downloads table has been updated accordingly.

Because of this change we now have dozens of tags per release, and none of them can be marked "latest." We hope to find another host for the dictionaries to avoid this limitation.

The update fixes a bug in Anki that caused menus added by add‑ons to be repositioned — the "About" menu moved from under "AJT" to "Help." This affected only macOS users. If you still use macOS, consider switching to GNU/Linux to avoid similar issues in the future.

If you encounter any problems with these add‑ons, please let me know.
