When we talk about the pendulum swinging, you probably imagine it swinging in a very simple back and forth: it goes Left, it comes back Right to roughly the same extreme. This is not how the dialectical operative understands or uses the pendulum swing. The gif below (above) is closer.
The pendulum might be moving back and forth in its own reference frame, but the dialectical operators (Hermeticists) are moving the reference frame so that it's going somewhere. The Left-Right swing allows it to avoid resistance that inevitably mounts against either extreme.
This tactic is based off the Hermetic principles of transformation, so it's something they know they're doing with specific intention. The idea is to move history toward its intended end (Platonic perfection) not in a straight line but in a spiral (or by sinusoid, snakey).
The key is understanding that the pendulum is swinging, but the Hermeticists have control of the bob (or reference frame in other ways)...

In a recent interview with VICE, I was asked what I view as the greatest technological threat to privacy and freedom today. My answer 👇
I wouldn’t pin the threat on any single piece of technology. It’s the entire ecosystem. Facial recognition, predictive algorithms, biometric databases, AI-driven surveillance—all of that is equally horrifying to anyone who still regards privacy as a virtue.
What concerns me most is the human tendency to outsource accountability, transparency, and decision-making to these systems. We’re not just automating processes; we’re automating judgment, often in the very moments when human discernment is most critical. By deferring to machines, we create a moral blind spot. The algorithm becomes the scapegoat, the system becomes the excuse—and suddenly, no one is responsible. Not the agency, not the officer behind the screen.
For decades, government has mastered the art of passing the buck and sidestepping blame. But now, with automated systems and outsourced surveillance, the buck doesn’t just get passed, it vanishes altogether.
This isn’t just a technical shift, it’s a cultural one—a quiet surrender of ethical responsibility, masked in the language of efficiency and innovation.
That's enough to frighten anyone paying attention. – Source

Jeremiah 23:16-22 NIV
“Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you;
they fill you with false hopes.
They speak visions from their own minds,
not from the mouth of the Lord.
‘The Lord says: You will have peace.’
And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts
they say, ‘No harm will come to you.’
to see or to hear his word?
Who has listened and heard his word?
will burst out in wrath,
a whirlwind swirling down
on the heads of the wicked.
until he fully accomplishes
the purposes of his heart.
In days to come
you will understand it clearly.
yet they have run with their message;
I did not speak to them,
yet they have prophesied.
they would have proclaimed my words to my people
and would have turned them from their evil ways
and from their evil deeds.
¹⁶ This is what the Lord Almighty says:“Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you;
they fill you with false hopes.
They speak visions from their own minds,
not from the mouth of the Lord.
¹⁷ They keep saying to those who despise me,‘The Lord says: You will have peace.’
And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts
they say, ‘No harm will come to you.’
¹⁸ But which of them has stood in the council of the Lordto see or to hear his word?
Who has listened and heard his word?
¹⁹ See, the storm of the Lordwill burst out in wrath,
a whirlwind swirling down
on the heads of the wicked.
²⁰ The anger of the Lord will not turn backuntil he fully accomplishes
the purposes of his heart.
In days to come
you will understand it clearly.
²¹ I did not send these prophets,yet they have run with their message;
I did not speak to them,
yet they have prophesied.
²² But if they had stood in my council,they would have proclaimed my words to my people
and would have turned them from their evil ways
and from their evil deeds.
