The Vought OS2U Kingfisher was one of the most important U.S. floatplanes active in WWII.
It used for air recon, correcting naval gunfire and rescue downed pilots, as well as anti-submarine aircraft.
Served with the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marines and U.S. Coast Guard, as well as the British Royal Navy and with the Australian Air Force. Soviet Navy used two aircraft on the cruiser Milwaukee (Murmansk).
Total more than 1500 aircraft was built.
Characteristics: max weight 2,700 kg, cruise speed 240 km/h, 300 kg of bombs, recon and rescue patrol time 5 hours with fuel reserve for 2 hours of flight.
