A recent serious security concern regarding Telegram on raise where accounts are being created using someone else's phone number without them initiating or trying to.

For instance I came across 4 cases within a week where victims don't even have telegram installed in their phone, one victim does not even have a smart phone but, I got notification in Telegram saying that they joined Telegram.

When I further investigate by accessing their accounts the accounts are being accessed by unknown devices from countries like Russia & US.

When I tried to seek similar incidents I've seen there are similar instances reported by various Reddit users way before as well.

One of them suggests that the core reason behind this issue is the Telegram's verification process which seems not that secure.

The same vulnerability can be also used to access accounts without 2FA enabled as well.

Prevention:
- Enable 2FA
- Check whether there is anyone from your contact recently joined Telegram and cross verify with them through a call.
- If anyone you know is asking for a financial assistant or so on potentially they're not the real person.

Instagram introduced Teen accounts; which automatically apply certain restrictions on accounts created by teens (under 16).

- Messaging restrictions
- Limited interactions
- Time limit reminders (60 min per day)
- Sensitive content restrictions
- Sleep mode enabled (10PM - 7AM)

🚨 Arc Browser has a serious vulnerability identified by a researcher recently which is actually related to firebase and utilizes Arc boosts.

Severity: This will let threat actors gain access to any arc user's browser.

Fix: According to Arc Team they fixed it with v1.61.1

However, not even warning the users about this security issue is not a good sign for a browser company.

WhatsApp testing two new features:

Read All: a menu option to mark all unread messages as Read.

Home screen notification count: New notification setting to control the behavior of notification dot or count displayed in the Home screen.

WhatsApp is testing a new privacy feature which will automatically block messages from unknown accounts when they exceed a high volume.

If you turn on Block unknown account messages, you won't block all unknown messages only the ones who exceed the limit will be blocked.

Just noticed that #YouTube for Android now lets users share videos with timestamp with an improved toggle in the sharing sheet.

Arc fixed the aforementioned vulnerability within a day and paid the researcher 2000$ for identifying and helping to fix it.

Also stated that no Arc member is effected by this threat.

WhatsApp started testing the filters and backgrounds for camera attachments as well.
