New law regulating the circulation of digital currency in the Russian Federation

The President has signed a law on the regulation of the circulation of digital currency in the territory of the country. The document will come into force on 1 November 2024.

Control over the register of miners is transferred from the Ministry of Digital Currency to the Federal Tax Service. The latter will be able to exclude companies from the list for violations within one year.

The register can include sole proprietorships and legal entities. Individuals are allowed to mine digital currency without being included in the list if they do not exceed certain limits on electricity consumption.

Ethena team accused of misappropriating 180m ENA

The developers of USDe stackablecoin, Ethena Labs, have been suspected of misappropriating 180 million native ENA tokens for pharming.

The Examiner claims that the Ethena team owns approximately 25 per cent of the total volume of ENA blocked in the steaking community. Community members are blocking coins for Sats points as part of the third season of Airdrop.
