for those trying to boot ,
5.4 kernel is deprecated (rip Spacewar) and xml parsing behaviour changed too
Only sm8250+ is affected by the xml parsing change as the display libs aren't updated enough.
if u have a legacy device ( older than sm8250) with bpf from 5.10 u can boot without any hacks

What's going away in micaos ,
* Lockscreen weather ( impl is too old to port without disabling other features . Will be back if i ever manages to rewrite it from latest pixel stock )

With the new canary releases . Google is actively working to migrate rest of the settings entries to catalyst . Probably with Android 17 , we would ve to migrate all the custom additions on settings to kotlin
