Once upon a time Chalmers and Dennett were drinking vodka, but it seemed to them that it was not enough, and they decided to go to the store to buy some more.
They walked half the distance to the store, but there was still half left. They walked a quarter - there was still a quarter left. They walked another eighth - there was still some left.
After these unsuccessful attempts, they realized that they would not get to the store, and they crawled back; but here, too, the same story repeated itself.
As a result, they found themselves exactly in the middle between points A and B. Here they decided to rest - they lay down on the grass and began to look at the starry sky above their heads.
It is exactly the same with consciousness. It is not in the back of the brain and not in the front, but somewhere in the middle.
