According to the hormonal levels in cord blood, having children with minimal age difference may disadvantage the second child by decreasing the available hormone levels, potentially impacting their psychological development. Source

This study isn't perfect (Very small cohorts, potential confounding due to older average age of mothers for later-borns, and the influence of stress caring for a <4 y/o child while pregnant), but books like Nourishing Traditions and Deep Nutrition have also touched on this, suggesting at least a 4 year gap between kids.

This would imply a woman should begin having children quite young, to be able to leave enough of a gap between pregnancies.

I personally suggest waiting around 12-18 months to heal and taking extra care of yourself during the subsequent pregnancy, with a highly nutritious diet.

Don't use your smartphone around your children.
• If you need to purchase something, use a paper list and only look back at it once a week.
• If you need to contact someone, don't message them, call them. That way you don't have to look for a reply.
• Don't use electronic devices where the baby can see them. It's not great for their development and an impediment to establishing a direct relationship with them. In the psychological realm, the amount of focus you shower on a device can shake up the household hierarchy. The little one spots a gadget being given the most attention and it results in your phone potentially elbowing its way above you (the parent) in later scenarios.
• If you can, swap your smartphone out for a dumbphone.

Most of all, it's probably the number one time waster in your life. Getting away from it is the best way to be productive.

There are currently 30 countries that offer birth-right citizenship: automatic citizenship to anyone born within their borders. This includes the US. Some countries also automatically will grant the parents permanent residency.

The benefits of giving your child dual citizenship are immense; visa-free travel to more destinations, healthcare opportunities, later business opportunities, education, and a huge insurance in case of a large conflict or war.

However, there are also some negatives. For example, if you are a dual citizen of the US and another country, regardless of the other, you have to file US taxes. DYOR.

Some children don't have restful or extended periods of sleep at night because they are not intellectually or spiritually challenged enough during the day.

Teething: Most babies' milk teeth begin appearing between 4 and 7 months of age. The tooth going through the gums can be uncomfortable, sometimes painful, and often keeps them up at night.

Pharmacies sell 'teething gels' which help to soothe the pain - these often contain lidocaine hydrochloride and cetylpyridinium chloride. Lidocaine is toxic when consumed. Genuinely toxic. I don't know why it's still recommended by pharmacists for babies. Cetylpyridinium chloride is an antiseptic which has been linked to discolouration. On the other hand, teething granules made with chamomile or similar herbs, are not entirely effective because they wash out of the baby's mouth almost instantly. Chamomile tea, in this case, works better to calm them down.

So, what can you do?
- Massage the baby's gums with your finger
- Offer them tough things to chew on (carrot, bread)
- Give them a chilled spoon or teether

Clove bud can be used for teething if it is properly diluted. It is suggested that it's only used in babies above the age of 2, because of its potency. Too much clove oil, if ingested, can upset the baby's tummy.

It seems to be a trend around my area, to teach small infants sign language so that they can communicate more before they can speak.
