Kaonic 1S is our flagship Single Board Computer with dual integrated long range radios.
It enables capabilities that were only available to the military sector before, such as encrypted live audio calls over mesh networks.
Meshing is based on the revolutionary Reticulum mesh network, with our own backwards compatible Rust port for much higher performance.
Our firmware and software is open source, allowing users to modify the system to their own needs and providing full transparency of the system’s capabilities.
Kaonic is the future of decentralised off grid communication.

🌟 Community Poll: Should Beechat Launch a Crypto Token? 🌟
A token could help us: 1. Raise funds from the community to develop more tech. 2. Incentivise node setup (like "mining" by forwarding packets). Vote below—your voice matters! 💬✨

Introducing the new, rugged, protective case design for Kaonic 1S modules!
This new protective case will allow you to carry the Kaonic 1S without any exposed electronics.
Simply power the Kaonic 1S via either of the two on-board USB-C ports (with a power bank, or mains socket) to boot it up.
The dedicated power button allows switching to different power modes.
The LEDs act as status indicators for the Kaonic 1S.
Stay tuned for our tests on the cases 😎

5 years of R&D. Live, low-latency (sub-100ms) TDD audio over a cryptographic mesh network. Built on a Rust port of Reticulum, our Kaonic system balances sensitivity, range, and data rate for real-world performance.
This isn’t just another radio module. It’s a fully decentralised, infrastructure-free, and encrypted communications platform. End-to-end cryptography, efficient packet routing, and optimized PHY-layer performance—all packed into a modular form factor.
Designed for tactical operations, emergency response, and autonomous systems. No towers. No satellites. No centralised control. Just pure, resilient, off-grid connectivity.
The future of cryptographic mesh networking is here.

Forgive my dumb question, but all of this patented, right? I don't want to see any bigtech snatch it!

Great question. Thankfully, under international patent law, once an invention or technique is publicly disclosed, it cannot be patented by anyone, including big tech or even the original publisher. That’s actually one of the reasons we’ve chosen to publish it: by putting it in the public domain, we ensure it stays free and accessible. We’re offering the technology as open source for the benefit of humanity.

We’ve ported Reticulum to Rust — and it’s now open-source.
https://lnkd.in/epHnEt_m
We’ve rebuilt the entire Reticulum networking stack in Rust — modular, embedded-ready, and optimised for low-latency, resource-constrained environments. The full codebase is now live on GitHub.
This is a clean, from-scratch implementation (not a wrapper, not a fork) designed to run on systems like our Kaonic radios.
