BetterTelegram v1.3.91.DLL has been tested and working with the new Telegram Release v5.16.3 (as of 8 hours ago). Feel free to continue using BetterTelegram without interruption!

A major update for BetterTelegram GUI & in-part, BetterTelegram DLL is planned for release by 19.07.2025, it will include a handful of fixes & new features!

Lastly, we would like to THANK all of you beautiful people for helping us reach 50 active licences on BetterTelegram. We will seriously consider the original members of BetterTelegram in future perks/privileges of this project. Until the unforeseen future, BetterTelegram is free to use & as such, the most motivation we get for continued development of this project is the feedback & response from all you guys! BetterTelegram v1.3.93.DLL has been released & hot-fixed to support Telegram v5.16.4 which was released yesterday!

Additionally, we are making a lot of progress with regards to the next major upgrade of BetterTelegram which will mark DLL v1.4.x & BetterTelegram GUI v1.3.x — it is expected to be finished around the first week of August. On top of there we are adding a bunch of new functionality/plugins, bug & crash fixes, plus performance upgrades ... you guys are going to LOVE everything thats coming!

Hello everyone! In the last 2 months we have been hard at work addressing the previous bug reports & basically doing a full codebase rewrite of BetterTelegram in order to bring you a better experience!

BetterTelegram GUI v1.3.1

- Added Manual-Update functionality & UI with progress updates to inform the user about the status of the update in real-time
- Integrated Telegram Version updating UI/UX alongside Manual-Update, in order to make sure BetterTelegram supports the latest release
- Added a "Save License" button at the login page, to avoid entering your license key every time at login

BetterTelegram DLL v1.4.27

- Added a unique indicator of OTR-protected chats, which appears as a custom text render directly into the chat window
- Added UI for user authentication of the OTR plugin such that you explicitly control which users can or cannot authenticate with you
- OTR Protocol now works differently from before without bugs which were occuring when deauthenticating or reauthenticating OTR users
- Added unique message encoding which ensures that your buddies/peers cant send false OTR protocol messages to trick the plugin, only distinct messages are allowed
- Protocol now features a new control flow & order-of-operation since all components have been refactored

As of this moment, the latest Telegram version (6.0.2) is supported & updates will follow for newer versions as theyre released!

BetterTelegram DLL v1.4.32.dll

- Fixed a bug where reactions added to an OTR encrypted message would result in the message being deleted from the Telegram Chat Window

NOTE: We have been working on the sidelines to implement a Linux & MacOS build of BetterTelegram GUI + DLL (.SO for Linux & .DYLIB for MacOS), and we have an estimated release date by the end of November!
NOTE: Additionally, we are looking into making an iOS version of BetterTelegram (based on https://github.com/TelegramMessenger/Telegram-iOS) which will be available for download as an IPA & expect to have it completed before the end of this year!

Btw hearing all you people think we are a "Rat n similar stuff" we decided to go fully opensource : https://github.com/bettertelegram-client , This means you can fully compile the client and see everything that goes arround inside bettertelegram-client, we as @bettertelegramorg keep the hooks updated to the latest telegram versions. Reverse engineering telegram to get these hooks is not an easy task. We would like to hear feedback from you guys on our public chat, thanks!

Next weeks new feature (Photo, Video, Sticker, File, Voice Message, etc) OTR supported E2E transfer ... Even Jabber can't transfer files over OTR

A little update, the reactions bug. When reacting to OTR-decrypted messages, the message would disappear since the OTR-encrypted message would show in its place.

This protocol bug has now been fixed, and the message will no longer disappear!

We are working very hard these days, aiming to have the update released by Monday night (September 22), it will include all previous updates, bugfixes & a few other changes to the app, for ease of use!
