A wallet bridged $7M from multiple TRON wallets to Ethereum. Tracing the funds supports they were originally linked to a crypto investment group operating under a fake company.

The attacker has begun laundering funds, having already deposited $3.1M into Tornado Cash while still holding 1,477 ETH (~$4.7M).

The entire Zcash team resigned on Jan. 7 after a dispute with the board and is now considering forming a new company, causing the “fed coin” to drop 22%.

⚠ JUST IN: Truebit Protocol suffered an exploit that drained 8,535 ETH (~$26.4M) in one transaction.

An exploit in Truebit’s token system let an attacker mint billions of TRU for almost nothing and sell them at full value, wiping out the liquidity pool to 16.76 ETH and crashing the token’s price by over 98%.

⚠ BREAKING: Chinese businessman "Chen Zhi" has been arrested after running a scamming empire that stole over $75 billion in crypto.

Chen Zhi faces multiple charges for running illegal casinos, fraud, and money laundering, He is also wanted in the U.S. for stealing up to $30M in crypto daily through a luxury real estate scheme, with U.S. authorities seizing 127,271 BTC (~$15B)

Authorities around the world have confiscated his assets, including $145.6M in UK property, $130M in luxury cars in Taiwan, $353M in cash and investments in Hong Kong, and $114M in Singapore, including a yacht.

AnhLab (South Korean Cybersecurity company) discovered malware in a real pornographic video game after a victim reported losing 1.2 BTC (~$120k). The company warns users the game was designed to be real and to steal sensitive information and financial data.

⚠ UPDATE: A copycat attacker minted 11M $TRU minutes after the main Truebit hack, dumping them for 80 ETH (~$251K).

The timing suggests the attacker was already aware of the vulnerability, as the wallet was funded from Tornado Cash three days prior to the compromise.

Last week, we shared a clip featuring the infamous caller Tiffany scamming a victim. Since then, reports claim that nearly everyone she calls now responds by flirting and asking inappropriate questions, effectively turning the tables on her.
